So this issue came up in one of my groups gaming sessions. The fendelisum ability breath fire/lightning , is it a cone attack or single target?

I can't help much then, I'm running from the Corebook.
However, I would suggest a single target or an area of effect attack. Of the two, a single target seems more likely to me. Enough of my supposition, anyone with the book want to chime in?

The Text says "... dealing 8 dice of damage to anyone within 20 yards." Now, English is a foreign language for me, but I assume that means exactly one target, and you pick and chose if there are several possible targets.

That is, if I learned the meaning of "anyone" (as opposed to everyone) correctly ...

Thanks for the reading, rulandor.
I assume they mean one person, but that wording is really ambiguous. It really could be read either way.
