We get a lot more information from Tolkien than you think. We know they're Northmen, related to the Rohirrim, who used to live in the Anduin valley, as they do. This brings with it the Anglo-Saxon–like culture of the Rohirrim, sans horses. We get Beorn who, while not one of them, lives in the same area and has the same Anglo-Saxon–like manner of living. We get quite a bit of architectural style of his house and land. The authors of The One Ring simply extrapolated these things into a full-blown culture.

Of the people of Dorwinion, however, we know only that they make wine. Nothing else. There's no data from which to extrapolate a culture.
Right. I forgot we can extrapolate from the Rohirrim

I have been waiting for a Gondorian or a Breelander since the game first came out. IIRC AC was supposed to come out before Horse Lords. But, not only did Horse Lords arrive 1st, they completed the surprise Erebor and started work on ME 5th edition. The cover for AC have been out for 2 years I believe. That is a long wait.

I am truly hoping AC comes up at GenCon.

At this point I feel that it's a 50/50 chance that we will see The Adventurer's Companion before Oaths of the Riddermark.

That low? I would have given at least 52/48.

I wonder if the AC may come out before the D&DME so there are more culture options to start play with in D&D ME.

I would think that the having all the cultures ready might be the way to go with D&DME instead of having to wait for regional book supplements.

Very good point, Southron Loremaster. Wether it ends up being so or not, surely C7 are aiming at it. Makes a lot of sense.

My personal votes for future playable cultures are Men of Dorwinion, Elves of Lórien and Leofrings.
I LOVE the Wilderland.

Yes, the logic behind a productive connection between DnD ME and the AC is what keeps me up from beeing to disapointed:

If you would write a 5ed DnD ME Corebook, you would not start with only 5 playerraces! You would probably start with the full amount of playerraces, because the common DnDler ist used to have more options tha the common TOR-player. And as gamelaunches go, you have to impress and excite everbrody as much as you can..!
So it would be very reasonable to put all the playerraces in the DnD Corebook, right?! But this means, that you should wait until your DnD Corebook is done until you release another book that will nail down your options because in it are "all other races and cultures exept them from te TOR Corerules..."
So I think it is tactiacally reasonable to wait for the AC until the 5ed ME is not in layout or even printed...

Would you like to choose a different Culture for your second preference? The Elves of Lórien are already listed for inclusion in The Adventurer's Companion. :ugeek:

To the Northmen, the folk of Dorwinion seem exotic, with dusky complexions, deep, dark eyes, and clothes of brightly patterned cloth; ’tis no wonder that King Bard was so enchanted by his queen, Una.

So the Northmen are Anglo-Saxon, Germanic shading into Viking. Dunlendings are Celtic. Numenoreans are, well, whatever people from Atlantis are.

Dorwinion people are India? That's what came up when I googled dusky complexion. Or are they just generally Mediterranean, following the Germanic/Celtic/Mediterranean three way ethnic divide of Europe?
