"• The Mirkwood Campaign is coming soon!"

What is this book about? Sounds interesting.

We should have an official update next week, along with some cover art.

In short, it is the AME conversion of the epic, 30 year, Darkening of Mirkwood campaign by Gareth Ryder Hanrahan.

30 years in game, mind you. Most folks tell us it takes between 1 1/2 to 3 years to run it in our world. ;)

The time varies a lot by frequency of play and just how much the Loremaster decides to explore the many options the campaign suggests.

Oh no, I'm definitely on the 30 years in game = 30 years IRL plan. :)

It's not that far off for us, either. We've done 22 years worth of Darkening so far, and it's taken us about 5 years IRL.

I'm just starting to mix the Darkening events into the Wilderland Adventures sequence. The crew just wrapped up Darkness in the Marshes, and it's midsummer 2947. I started them with The Wizard's Man when they were on their way to meet Radagast, carrying a message from Beorn, and now they're gonna head up to northern Mirkwood and over to Dale and Esgaroth to start them on Crossings of Celduin, but i think I'm gonna get them into Thranduil's for a quick bit first, since the crew's mostly elves. Problem I've been facing is that they're already levels 6-7 (I'd run them on some stuff before we started the Wilderlands sequence), so I'm having to scale the encounters a bit; I'm getting the impression that's gonna get worse as I work them through the rest of the Darkening stuff. Especially since, as elves, most of them aren't gonna age out of the campaign.

How does this campaign play with the "Wilderlands Adventures" book? Can they be used together?

Yes, pretty easily intertwined; most TOR LMs have done this to great effect.
