No crossbow in this game version

Hello, does some one know why there is no crossbow on AIME or TOR ?

No crossbow in Tolkien.

There are no crossbows that appear in Tolkien's legendarium. Also, no full plate armor, two-handed swords, firearms, blasters or lightsabers.

That said, crossbows and other gear can be carried over from D&D 5e if you think them appropriate (maybe some Easterlings have them) or want a more movie-flavored campaign. Similarly, you might have Saruman experimenting with alchemist's fire and other explosives. You could even introduce a description and stats for the twirlie-whirlies used by the Dwarves of the Iron Hills.
