A TOR Guide to Western Eriador, the Blue Mountains, and Lindon

The unique One Ring rules set invites tinkering and secondary creation. Whilst The One Ring works brilliantly as written, we provide this forum for those who want to make their own home-brewed versions of the rules. Note that none of these should be taken as 'official'.

I've made some changes and additions to the entry on Lindon, Forlindon specifically. I've gone ahead and renamed the river that cuts through most of Forlindon the Vingelion (formerly the Linduin) as an homage to the river Gelion in the First Age. I've also paid more attention to the islands off the coast and to the bay near the Isle of Himling; it is now called the Bay of Thargelion.

I've added an entry for opening Hargrod as a sanctuary. I do not want to write a similar undertaking for the Halls of the Dwarves until we know more about that place; by then it might not be needed.

I've expanded on the entry for Western Eriador by including the region of Minhiriath, south of the River Baranduin (Brandywine). New places of interest include the forest of Eryn Vorn and the ruins of Lond Daer. I have also included a potential adversary as much as for color as anything else.

Some revisions: I've included the hill lions from Forlindon under the Wildlife entry for the northern Blue Mountains. Also, the Hazard: Dumbledors seemed more appropriate for the fens of the River Greyflood. Consequently, I wrote a new Hazard for Forlindon: Hummerhorns, which I've imagined as huge cicada-like insects that create a loud racket in the summer and early fall.

I've written a "TOR Guide" for Enedwaith with the intention of submitting it to The Hall of Fire webzine. For that essay I moved my write-up of Lond Daer to there from my entry on Minhiriath. This is also where I placed my Dumbledors hazard.
