Willpower Points reduced to zero

Post by Fly » Sun Nov 05, 2017 10:27 pm

in our campaign one Brother Of Crystal Star, after a couple of spell launches, had no more Willpower.

I cannot find in the books a mention about the effect of this event, unless this: " If a character has his or her Willpower reduced to 0 and suffers any effect that would damage WILL, that value is subtracted from Endurance instead".

Maybe does he faint on the floor? Lose a turn for the dramatic loss of will?
Just continue the fight without spells?

Please, let me know :-)

Barring any other instance where it may say the contrary (which I believe you never did find), I believe you have found the answer to your own question (the quote). Cheers!

Looking at the Book of Kai Wisdom, page 39, under Parry technique, it's stated that a character reduced to 0 Willpower while parrying goes unconscious.
It's not clear whether this is a special case or the usual consequence.
I'm inclined to believe that it's a special case.

Heroes of Magnamund, pg 9: „If a character [sic!] your WILLPOWER is reduced to 0 and you suffer any effect that would damage WILLPOWER, that value is substrated from ENDURANCE instead.“

- that being said, Id say a spellcaster etc can’t go willingly below Zero. But if you take a damage like WP loss at Zero, you use END and therefore could die from WP loss as well.
