(N)PCs accidentally messing with the timeline and then "returning to the present" to find that an accepted interpretation has changed due to their carelessness... could be a nice framework for a scenario! And it would allow you to use multiple "competing" scientific viewpoints when describing your prehistoric creatures.

I'll go with whatever both fits the show and fits the game. I'm not a supporter of dinosaurs with feathers so that won't appear in my games. It is science fiction after all and meant for fun.
