Now GW went out and did give a brief explanation on what the realms are like. Most of this was already known but it kind of required you to read a boatload of sources and cobble them together.
So the core of the setting is that every world is connected through hell, so you have to toss yourself through it to get anywhere else?

.....That's terrible design. How are you meant to make alliances, travel for stories and whatnot? I wasn't excited for this RPG before, but now i straight feel bad for people writing stories in it.

What? No. Realmgates are incredibly stable (and their travel instantenous), and it takes a lot of effort to destabilize them and make them go awry. Hammerhal, the greatest of the new built cities (think Marienburg 2.0) is actually built around the two sides of a realmgate, one side in Aqshy one Side in Ghyran. And it's not the only one.

Plus nowhere in the video is said that All-Gates is "hell" (and then again it's not the only connection). Just the equivalent of the Tube. Nor is the void hell either.

Plus... what you've described is more in line with warhammer 40.000's warp travel.

What? An entire planet of your own isn't good enough for you?

Granted, there has to be better ways to travel from world to world.

Why would you want to? I mean, realmgates are virtually teleporters, just with a fixed destination.

Any news on when we will be able to order this? Looking forward to seeing AoS in RPG form! :D

I would honestly love to. Or at least see the cover for the RPG. Something either glorious or that showcases the average joe schmoe in the realms surviving the enviroment.

Age of Sigmar 2nd Edition was announced this weekend at Warhammer Fest, with a release in June. This was for the miniatures game, though, and not the RPG. But seriously, GW, and the companies making the game updates for them, are really going all out this year in putting out new editions of everything Warhammer.

Yet another edition of the miniatures game!?? :o
They should call it Ihammer Fantasy Battles instead!

I can't blame GW, this time around.

The launch of AoS was terrible. Terrible. A game with some serious problems, which got rightly ridiculed by the online community, and some insane background choices (Sigmarite? Really?), publicized as the Best Thing Ever, after the (useless) destruction of a really beloved setting.

That doesn't make sense.

Anyways, the edition change is something tame, just adjusting the 4-pages-pdf and some warscrolls. The only substantial book change is that Mighty Battles in the Age of Sigmar is being replaced by an actual Core Book, since that book stopped being representative of the setting about two years ago... and the game has 3 by now!

Hell, they are not even changing the battletomes, they've stated that much.

As for laughing... a too large chunk of the contempt came from made up stuff (like Sigmar Made the realm... wtf) or too blown out of proporitions or ignoring historical context (like, sure, Sigmarite... we have like dozens of elements named after guys.)
