I'm also very happy to hear that WFRP will live on, and have faith that Cubicle 7 will give it the treatment it deserves.

On the other hand - and like many others here I've played since 1st Ed - I'm really hoping for something a bit more streamlined and cinematic.

No offense to those who loved it, but the d100 system does not float my boat.
I don't necessarily disagree, but I feel like a modified version of the d100 system could work. One thing that I liked about the d100 is that it did feel very "Warhammery"

Zweihänder was made for the d100 fans - i really hope Cubicle 7 does create something more original.

The only way to make something original is to go with something odd like FFGs narrative dice that was used for WFRP 3rd ed, and to be honest I'm sick of "original" designs. I'd rather see something tried and true that's been cleaned up.

Well, no matter what system they use, here's hoping that they make some sweet dice like they did for Tor.

So, it's essentially confirmed then. I'm excited and apprehensive at the same time. I have several questions that I hope they will address with their announcement.

My greatest question is how this license acquisition will affect other Cubicle7 lines. WFRP is not a small license and GW doesn't mess around with how those licenses are handled. I hope this means new hires for the company so we can continue to see excellent support and releases for products like TOR as well as doing WFRP justice.

Close behind that, and already discussed is my hope that this will be based in pre-age of Sigmar.

Third, is what system will they use/develop?

Fourth... When will the first pre-order be ready?

Considering the sentence "Discover the future of Games Workshop related table-top roleplay games." i fear the new RPG sadly implies a AOS based game from a economical point of view.

Why is that?

I think from a economical point of view it just makes no sense for GW to give Cubicle7 the rights for Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay in the Old World without any chance to participate in a product not supported by their current tabletop miniatures for AoS.

Sadly, while I hope you are wrong, I think you are probably right. My only hope is that the wishy-washy nature of the new world that is Age of Sigmar would be pretty terrible for a RPG setting.
