So, Judge Dredd?

Postby Trippy » Mon Nov 21, 2016 10:35 am

With the quiet relinquishing of the Judge Dredd license by Mongoose Publishing, and the links Cubicle 7 have had with the Rebellion group (as far as I know), what chances are there that they might pump for a chance at rebooting a classic British fan favourite?

Well, I had to ask?

I would prefer the game to be called Mega-City One.

The issue with judge dredd as a name is you are tied into the "Judges". I played the GW version, and it was great, however it's replay-ability isn't that great. Campaign wise you may get a short one, but not sure on the longevity.

Now Mega-City One has everything, judges, non judges, judges with narks, perps, boingers, fatties, ugglies, smeg, Block War! Cursed Earth everything and is a much more wider premise for a game

We're definitely not doing a Judge Dredd rpg. :)

In my opinion, probably a good thing. Personally, I feel that JD needs a bit of a facelift. If an rpg were to be done I would drop the political (Thatcherite) satire and make it a more grittier setting that concentrates on the cop on the hard streets (ala the movie Dredd).
