Re: Future system for Cthulhu ranges?

There's plenty of British Folklore that would be super creepy and horrifying. I remember reading a lot of Machen back in the day and finding that very unsettling, similarly with Dunsany and Hope-Hodgson. As for the Laundry I can see a move towards sticking to Lovecraft only monsters (as Charlie obvi...

Re: Future system for Cthulhu ranges?

Well the only Mythos elements that would need to be dropped (as they are Chaosium IP or licenced by Chaosium from living authors) are some monsters (and possibly their associated stat blocks). There are OGL D100 systems (Openquest for example) that are so similar to the core COC system that using on...

Re: Future system for Cthulhu ranges?

The old material could not be sold any longer (after Dec 31, 2017) as it contains Chaosium licensed material but there's nothing to stop C7 using the material in another book with the Chaosium IP removed (and other gribblies substituted) although it would be better to write fresh material more in li...

Re: Moria

You've heard it from Jon here and I heard it from Dom on Saturday at Dragonmeet. There will be no wasted pages that you are paying for and no cross-contamination of future TOR product's with nasty foreign numbers and words so let's not spread any more misinformation about what is or is not in the bo...

Re: More WFRP news! The Enemy Within and First Edition

I'd say read the thread, but then I'd get told off for not being helpful enough. However do not believe anything that you may have been told, only what C7 (Jon Hodgson/Dom McDowell) actually wrote or said in a video.

Re: Future system for Cthulhu ranges?

Talking with Dom yesterday at Dragonmeet my suggestion was for a D100 compatible system that allows the use of their older material so I believe their thinking goes along those lines (at least at the moment).

Re: WWC Line

Talking with Dom yesterday at Dragonmeet I suggested that they'll get better mileage out of a D100 system that was compatible with older material as that is how they seem to be going. SImilar to how Delta Green is a new system but closely compatible with the older version based around CoC, The new C...

Re: Moria

The information I got from the C7 seminar at Dragonmeet and personal discussion with Dom is that dual-stat stuff in Moria is because the cost of producing a box set is such that it makes sense to include both game systems but it is not likely to be anything they standardise upon. Note that Chaosium'...

Re: Moria

I quizzed Dom at Dragonmeet yesterday and failed my Persuade roll to elicit more information as he's pretty tight-lipped. I asked (in the seminar) about maps for Moria (would we get stuck with a load of battlefield maps for the AiMe section of the box rather than some beautiful and evocative illustr...

WWC Line

Sorry to hear you aren't going ahead with more WWC material using the Chaosium system. The line has been one of my favourites with quite a few SOE games being run and several WW2 London based games. Was planning on running more WWC-CW games this coming year after a successful run at Expo last year. ...
