Re: Moria

There I halted for a long while. It was almost a year later when I went on and so came to Lothlorien and the Great River late in 1941. Gareth's post hints at a Lothlórien supplement for next year. ;) Actually, if you parse it, it suggests that the Lothlorien supplement was written in 1941 by Tolkie...

Re: Beorn and Viglund

Thank you for your suggestions, Rich. I get your idea, but I don't want to take away Viglund's agency and make him the victim of someone else's manipulation: in my mind, it's pretty important for Viglund to be responsible of his own actions. Why? Because in my campaign Viglund is the embodiment of ...

Re: Shadow for killing innocuous orcs

It has occurred to me that a mechanic that might reflect this distinction would be one in which higher permanent shadow effectively inoculates you against certain types of shadow gain. Or, at least, reduces the chances of getting shadow (which really is what most inoculations do anyway...they reduc...

Re: Miniatures for TOR

Serious question here... What colour do you all prefer the rim of the bases to be painted? I used to paint them black but now do them brown. I'm not sure which I prefer the most but want to be consistent. I'm sorta leaning towards brown (which would mean me repainting lots of bases so they all match...

Maybe put a flashlight really close to the mini and cast 'wings of shadow' on the wall...
FTW.

Re: Miniatures for TOR

Wow, the pictures you guys put on here are truly amazing. You inspire me to want to get in there and paint. Butterfingers' regular posts do that for me so I also try to do the same and post when I can. Get painting though, I find it really relaxing, even if it does take hours for each figure as I'm...

Apparently there are some who believe that saying "are we there yet!?!" from the back seat gets you there faster. ;)
You mean it doesn't?

Damn.

Re: Rules for Skirmishes as an add-on to The Heart of the Wild

Going to enjoy reading this.

Quick question before I do, is it intended as a potential replacement to what you worked on with James or as an addition to it? I'm assuming its a replacement - ie, another set of optional/houserules separate to what you did with James (although using similar rules). Yes?

Re: "The Shadow over Wilderland" campaign AP -- SPOILERS

This is long, long overdue -- we played the session back in December 2017 -- but I'm inspired to resume my recaps by Agnot 's recent thread and Rich H 's updates to his own. This is a really long one, since we ran through a ton of story in this session, and it concludes Rich's excellent "To Journey...
