Re: How to Fix What I Broke Mechanically?

I remember this discussion coming up here (or on RPGNet, can't remember) where lots of folk were saying sharing successes was okay to do and part of the rules. I was one of the few that really cautioned against it for numerous reasons. Instead I introduced the idea of preliminary rolls to extended t...

Re: How many adventures/fellowship phases?

I have been unable to get my players to really come up with fellowship phases -- at best, they come up with a sentence about how they came to do the undertaking. There's nothing wrong with using Fellowship Phases to do that, spend those APs and XPs and do other 'mechanical' things. It's a perfectly...

Re: New printings of TOR sourcebooks reference the Revised book?

No, I'm not disagreeing with you, Rich, just playing devil's advocate. I could still see typographical errors being corrected between one printing and another though. You're right; the original references are almost certain to be retained. Yep, understood. OP, drop the C7 guys an email as per my pr...

Re: How many adventures/fellowship phases?

Your sequence should more accurately be: 1 Adventure and then 1 Fellowship Phase. That makes the Fellowship Phase a year end one which also means that there are two undertakings associated with it for each character. The above is pretty much how (officially) the game sets itself up - ie, one adventu...

Re: New printings of TOR sourcebooks reference the Revised book?

I was talking RPG books and TOR specifically as that's what the OP was enquiring about. Other books are irrelevant to the discussion considering we've had reprints and revised books in this line and how I've described them is how they've been released. You sometimes get slight changes in later repri...

Re: New printings of TOR sourcebooks reference the Revised book?

Usually, if its stated the book is a reprint then that will likely mean no changes to the text have been made, therefore its wiser to assume that references related to the edition of the rules that existed when the book was first released. Updated books with new text references (eg, Tales from Wilde...

Re: [Who Fancies a Game?] My Custom War of the Ring Boardgame

Even 15/18mm war elephants were too big as they are larger to fit and match up with their 15mm soldier counterparts. Far too big for the board so GW 28mm oliphaunts would just be daft!
