Re: What books do you actually need to play this game?

That is at least half wrong: There are no other cultures/races at the moment if you have the Adventurerers Companion. Rangers and Highelfs are in there too. So the only thing you get from `Rivendell´ (exept the discription of Rivendell and the lands around it), is rules for magical treasueres... .....

The license only covers material in The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.

There have been previous challenges (ie, it isn't allowed) with C7 (and other RPG makers) producing PDF only products for certain licenses. The One Ring has previously encountered such an issue, I'd expect AiMe to share this.

Re: Kicking Up Combat

Rich , I know you created it awhile ago, but nice work on the battle map piece. Thanks James, and just to note, drawing up these kind of maps can work perfectly with your Mythic Battles rules; which is partly why I put the idea together in order to support the more epic scenes in my campaign using ...

Re: Kicking Up Combat

What approaches have you taken (or house rules) for making combat even more interesting? These are the following house rules I use in my game: 1) Before the AC came out I was using a couple of extra combat options for each stance in my game that added some mechanical options for the players, these ...

Re: Adventures in Wilderland Announced

If reasonably possible, never miss an opportunity to improve something.

I'll put money on some of these adventures getting tweaked a little - even if it's only some sidebar advice etc.

Re: How much XP granted after a finished adventure?

This my be somewhat a sidetrack, but since several of you guys seem to think the players become to powerful during a full, epic campaign, would you go so far as to say that the best way to approach it would be to play through wilderlands, and then start darkening with newly made characters? You can...

Re: Please help this newbie on Patrons & Meet Patron"underta

Yeah, it's a little confusing perhaps. In Horse Lords of Rohan it also mentions Saruman: A company who meets Saruman for the first time will be enchanted by his wisdom and nobility and must take him as a patron (see also the New Fellowship Phase Undertakings on page 116). Which perhaps would imply t...

Re: How much XP granted after a finished adventure?

There are references in the rules but they didn't work for me as they often relate to sessions and session length varies per gaming group (see page 212 of the revised rules). I usually award around 4 xp per adventure per character with occassional 1 or 2 point bonuses to one or two of the characters...

Re: Wilderland Adventures Cover!

Ringfort Hypothesis Pros: This is a book that includes the Ringfort battle, which involves defending a Hobbit from goblins and wargs. Cons: It looks more like a rocky outcropping than a Ringfort. Thorin & Co. Hypothesis Pros: The people defending the Hobbit look like Dwarves. Cons: Thorin & Co. wer...
