Re: Getting poisoned through armour

I read it the other way. As in the character is considered to be Wounded, and if he were poisoned again it would be the same as if he were wounded again. Poison attacks bypass a Protection test whereas to be Wounded twice takes two failed tests. Personally, I wouldn't go with letting two Poison att...

Re: Getting poisoned through armour

The other interpretation seems awfully silly to me, and is open for all sorts of PC abuse. (" I'm already poisoned, so let me charge through the nest of Spiders! I don't have to worry about their poison!") Which I can do either way as they only poison on a Called Shot so nobody roll any dice so we ...

Re: Fate of Goblin slaves - a moral dilemma

I love that phrasing. Yes, the Shadow "finds a way" to affect people, and the Shadow particularly thrives on exactly the kind of moral dilemma posed by the OP. The Shadow simply loves (to anthropomorphize it) when well-intentioned folk find themselves stuck between imperfect options. Internal confl...

Re: Fate of Goblin slaves - a moral dilemma

My group (two players) and I are experienced gamer and been playing for decades. At first we struggled with Shadow point and how it seems like arbitrary punishment akin to the debate people have over alignment. But then one of the players made an astute observation similar to the points above that ...

Re: Fate of Goblin slaves - a moral dilemma

I'm just going to quote this in isolation as it's something that has been said many times in this thread and, for me, is absolutely critical to the discussion: Again, Shadow points are not a measure of the absolute morality/justifiability of an act, they are a measure of the toll on one's psyche. Ev...
