Re: Audiences without the Cultural Attitudes

When looking at Wilderland Adventures , another example that can be helpful is Hartfast, the chieftain of Mountain Hall. Despite being a Woodman, he looks favorably upon Dwarves and the Audience can be boosted quite a bit by having a Dwarf speak up. The Cultural Attitudes table is a baseline for the...

Re: Moria

What about a witch-nose? (You'd perhaps (not) be amazed by the amount of hatemail I got for giving a Great Orc a witch-nose...) Sometimes I yearn for a time with less mail, less social networks, and less customer entitlement  I think, and I have little evidence unfortunately, that it'...

Mr McDowall is a completely unknown entity to me.
Well, as might be relevant to your latest post, in addition to being the CEO of Cubicle 7, Dom is also extensively credited for Adventures in Middle-earth as well as a host of other well-deserved accolades.

Re: Some basic Weapon questions!

#1: Yes, it passes over. There’s a way you can ‘return’ a Quality to unlock abilities of magical war gear but you can’t lose something you’ve paid for. #4: Experience Points (and Advancement Points) are spent during the Fellowship phase. Some special things (like searching a Hoard for magical war ge...

Re: Moria

I’m reminded of one Abstract painter that did all his work with white paint on a white canvas. The beauty was on the textures and the patterns that they created. Of course, that was seeing it in person... I imagine it would have been less impressive in a magazine or on a website.

And what about thousand and one nights? :D
Ooh. I was just thinking about that the other night. Since it’s not literally that many stories, just enough for him to fall in love.

Re: "A hundred"

Going on a slight tangent, in Chinese "one thousand" is used to mean infinity, or at least a very very large number. That's why Mao propaganda when he was alive said he would live 1000 years. It was also the source of some of the confusion in Marco Polo's accounts of China. He said for example that...

When I read the thread title, I thought somebody was upset with Beorn. As in:

"_________ Beorn!"
I have to admit that when I first saw the thread title, I did think to myself “That’s a spectacularly bad idea.”
