Re: Fatigue rules: too harsh... and one piece of trivia

Let's not get into what is and isn't fun, since it's is such an individual-specific thing. Many of us do find it fun to have true-to-life constraints imposed on the game, and to play out how we would deal with the situations it presents given the imaginary skills and resources our characters have. ...

Re: Fatigue rules: too harsh... and one piece of trivia

I'd much rather have mechanics...like in TOR...in which there is no "best" decision, and no matter which decision you take you're sacrificing something to get something else. As long as it doesn't completely contradict "realism" I don't mind if the details are sketchy. I agree completly with this +...

Re: After the Watch on the Heath: What to do with Raenar?

However, I have not come up with a nice adventure yet. I didn’t just want it to be a journey to the tower and then combat... An open question to everyone (for ideas) but beyond the politics surrounding this, with Bard and his court and the Dwarves, what else do you think there is other than slaying...

Re: After the Watch on the Heath: What to do with Raenar?

Raenar is still at the tower in my campaign, and everytime the players see King Dain, he mentiones that there is unfinished business up north.

Re: The Twice-baked Honey Cake conundrum

Not quite sure if I follow you on the market pool part. I am quite new to TOR, to RPGs in general for that matter, and I have not read anything mentioning a marketing pool or what so ever. Is this something from a supplement or might this be a AiME thing? It is from rules from the Lake Town supplem...

Re: The Twice-baked Honey Cake conundrum

Hi all, I was just wondering how some of you would go about PCs wanting to buy certain items that could help them later on. Especially with items like Twice-Baked Honey Cakes, keeping in mind that the PC does not own the corresponding Virtue. Or items that would help restore Endurance during the Ad...

Re: Litteracy in Middle-Earth?

I think C7 see all of the playable cultures as literate.
Why else have the “Write a letter” fellowship phase

Re: Litteracy in Middle-Earth?

The Sindarin element does surprise although the language of Gondor is a good way to allow for ease of communication with outsiders for gaming purposes if not for anything else. Although, it being spoken in court is something to develop ideas from; I mean, how would some in court feel about a foreig...

Re: Frár's Beard (...or Lack Thereof.)

I’m not trying to persuade anyone, but my take on this is that he had a very long beard braided with gold rings and tugged underbeath his belt. The elves cut the beard, but did not take the time to shave him. So he remained beardless until he were able to braid it again and insert some gold rings, a...

Re: Most amusing results of an Eye roll/failure

While visiting the Eagles after a rescue from an Orc attack. One player failed Courtesy with an eye, so the rock he thought he was sitting on turned out to be an egg!! He was not part of the interaction after that... And the other players had to succeed with some Inspire to make the Eagle spare his ...
