Re: Advancing Fellowship Focus rules
I like your idea, poosticks7. I had been thinking about Ecorce's method of limiting the number of points by success, but didn't find a good option. Let's see, here are some follow-up ideas, based on Ecorce's and poosticks7's: *To adapt the number of FP to the size of the group, maybe we could say th...

Re: Miniatures for TOR
The Beorn-as-bear figure that comes with the boardgame Battle of Five Armies is really good. I don't know about scales, though. The game is very good in itself, and you'd also get many more minis from Wilderland, so it might be worth a buy.

Re: Rules Clarification: Bonus Dice
Kullervo, that example you mention is the fight against the Attercops?
If so, I think that example is a copy+paste from the first edition and there, IIRC, advantages were rolled after the opening volleys. It also messed me up in the beginning.
Everything's just like Indur said.

Re: Campaign Idea Assistance
Have you played the videogame War in the North? Even if you haven't, I'm sure there are videos on youtube with full gameplays or such. If you take out a lot of the action and hacking&slashing, the history behind, the big NPCs, and the story are very well fitted for a Northern campaign. Also, you can...

Re: Moria
There I halted for a long while. It was almost a year later when I went on and so came to Lothlorien and the Great River late in 1941. Gareth's post hints at a Lothlórien supplement for next year. ;) Actually, if you parse it, it suggests that the Lothlorien supplement was written in 1941 by Tolkie...

"In spite of the darkness of the next five years I found that the story could not now be wholly abandoned, and I plodded on, mostly by night, till I stood by Balin's tomb in Moria." Re: Questions about hiding & Called Shots on Opening Volleys
Just for completions sake, here's where my mistake about "half the company" comes from: If the company is being ambushed , the heroes roll for Awareness, Hunting or Battle (depending on the situation). If half or more of the company succeeds, they are considered defenders regarding initiative and Pr...

Thanks! That's right.Indur Dawndeath wrote: ↑Thu Apr 19, 2018 6:59 amJust to clarify. Everyone need to succeed at stealth to ambush

Re: Questions about hiding & Called Shots on Opening Volleys
1. Suppose that the PCs choose to hide, should I ask for Stealth checks (at TN 14, or TN 10 + Highest enemy attribute bonus)? And how should I handle the outcome? On the one hand, if a companion fails, they are discovered, and this probably means the whole fellowship has to fight. On the other hand...

Re: Shadow for killing innocuous orcs
This effect that some things hit you harder the first time you do/behold them has come up sometimes related to Corruption. Also to make the first killing of a character grant Shadow points. And maybe the first killing of a human (even if it is an Evil Man) to grant some more. It could be interesting...
