Re: Advice for new Loremasters

One of the pinned threads in this forum is a FAQ, compiled by zedturtle. http://forums.cubicle7.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=6618 There, you can find a category of FAQs labelled "Loremastering". In it, you'll find some links, of which probably the most useful to you could be: http://forums.cubicle7.co....

Re: Misc rules clarifications

1. The brawling rules are found on page 175 of the core rules. There's some more detail in Ruins of the North about less-than-lethal attacks as well. No, there are no rules for grappling. I recommend using the normal (Dagger) attack to determine a successful grapple, but with no damage, then during...

Re: Frár's Beard (...or Lack Thereof.)

I'd go with the "physiology" reason. Whenever I can find a "real world" reason that explains something, instead of a "it's magic!" reason, I usually go for the first. It all depends in the drama that is added because of the causes, but in this case I think the physiological reason is even more drama...

Re: Firsttime TOR Loremaster asking for Marsh Bell Oneshot Advice

Ok, I accept your interpretation. But from a mathematical view point, if you can fail 0 tests before the encounter is over, then it is over already. I get the confusion, and I can't say I'm 100% sure I'm right. I seem I recall an official confirmation in these forums, but I might also be wrong abou...

Re: Firsttime TOR Loremaster asking for Marsh Bell Oneshot Advice

Have the Hillmen be very hostile and set it up as an encounter with tolerance 1. First failed test results in combat. Not to nitpick, but that would actually be a tolerance of 0. An encounter ends/fails when the number of failures exceeds the tolerance, not when it equals it. Now that you did nitpi...

Re: Quick Laughter of Dragons Update

Many thanks for the update, Jon. Laughter is probably the most expected title in my sight, even more than Moria.

Re: Learning new weapon skills?

What you cannot learn is a group of weapons, like (Swords), if it's not your starting skills.

Everything else can be learned by spending the required XP. And as Rich and Otaku say, use the chance to develop the motivations of the PC further.

Re: Designing your own Adversaries

Everyone can be defeated, but of course some are harder than others. And a Great Orc is ment to be the like of the Great Goblin, or Azog or Bolg. They are chieftains that don't come out for a stroll alone, and are probably not to be used as a standard combat in TOR. One Great Orc per campaign is pro...
