Magic System

I'm contemplating a design for a magic system for TOR, and I want to catalog all examples of "spells" being used in the source texts. Does anybody know of such a compilation already existing?

Having worked on Francesco's early TOR drafts and especially on stats and things such as the weapon values, monsters, cultural virtues and designing the cultural rewards, I have to say this calculator is quite impressive. Also, I don't mean simply "imagining" it but also experiencing, through simple TOR-like mechanics, all the dangers and fears of underground travel: getting lost, backtracking, running out of torches, getting separated, leaping dreadful gaps, etc.

That is not at all how the licensing for all this works. Basically, what has changed is who is in control of the non-movie rights. The movie rights cover The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, and include merchandising options, which is what I believe Tolkien-based RPGs fall under. The only influenc...
