Re: After the Watch on the Heath: What to do with Raenar?

Your recaps have reminded me that Raenar was left in the same place in my game. I've not gone back to him since, but perhaps now - we're currently dealing with the intrigue and politics of young Girion in Dale right now - might be a good time for him to rise up from his long (short for a dragon) res...

Re: [Tale of Years] The Fellowship of the Free (Spoilers)

Yes, amazingly fun to read, as always! :)

The poem your player took the time to do was brilliant as well.

And I think it would be best to go with the second option as well, waiting for the next arc in the campaign.

Welcome back to the hobby, steelpastor ! And don't hesitate to ask any questions you have. If you keep your eyes peeled on the Big River store, they'll occasionally run sales where you can get the basic 5E Player's Handbook for $20-25. You don't really need it right away, but it is helpful to have.

Re: AiMe Characters and the Balrog

Lately, been neck-deep into researching Moria, I can't stop thinking about the MERP moria map, which has a suite of rooms for the Balrog at the base level of Moria. I never noticed that detail in the MERP material. I keep wondering what it does over the long years hanging out down there. One word: ...

Re: Converting MERP Levels to AIM/5e Levels for My Upcoming Campaign

One bummer with statting out the bigwigs of the setting is that the PCs could, in theory, surpass their Patrons. This has happened in my game, where the Envoy to King Thranduil is now like Level 18! :o Not that this is really a problem , per se. I'll probably move some of those major characters of t...

Re: Adventure Summaries (Spoilers)

The first part of our adventure last Friday was appended to the summary from last time. They find a hoard in the creature’s lair, which contains ancient items, relics, and much gold. The company gathers it up and returns to Rivendell, where they spend months identifying the artifacts. They then jour...

Re: Frár's Beard (...or Lack Thereof.)

One entire subclass was known as the Longbeards, too. Did they get that name because they already had the highest status? Or was it more that they got to grow their beards longer than the others because of their place in society?

Re: Fate of Goblin slaves - a moral dilemma

Another great way to view Shadow points is to think about Frodo and his journey to Mount Doom. Or even Samwise. Frodo didn't make a ton of "wrong" decisions along the way, where he was doing "bad" things (killing, looting, and stealing his way across Middle-earth). But going through places like The ...
