Re: [Tale of Years] The Fellowship of the Free (Spoilers)

Fantastic summary, and the previous comments are spot-on: intense was exactly the word I would use to describe it! Well done! Having images/drawings of the characters really helps when visualizing these PCs that we as readers don't know very well. So when Grimbold fell I was like "NOOOO!!!" That was...

Re: Introductions and Tolerance

I should add that the one Encounter where the Tolerance was super low (not dictated by PC stats), there was a great deal of tension, as I warned the PCs going in that this one was WAY lower than usual. At least with that Encounter, things were tense and every roll was made with caution, especially a...

Re: Updated player's map?

I have a fan-made one from zedturtle, made (I believe) before he became an official C7 developer. You can shoot him a PM, and if he's cool with it I would be glad to share it with you.

Re: Realism in Middle-earth

EDIT: What three symbols would M-e residents use for Rock-Paper-Scissors? To answer my own question after a few minutes to think about it. Proposal A: Rock dulls Axe, Axe fells Tree, Tree splits Rock Rock looks like our rock Axe looks like our paper Tree looks like our paper, but with fingers sprea...

Re: Introductions and Tolerance

Yes, I counted Eyes rolled during Preliminary rolls (for Travel and Encounters). As for the OP, I have always counted failures during the Introduction as counting towards the total. That said, I don't believe my players ever ended up failing an Encounter. Even the one in Tales from Wilderland with R...

It truly is! It's probably the one book, other than the rules, that I've used the most in my campaign.

Re: Tale of Years- Company of the Seven Stars (Probably spoilers)

Excellent summary, and it sounds like you had a good, exciting game. You challenged the PCs, and though they might have struggled a bit, they all survived. Your game sounded fun and captured the feel of Tolkien well, from the sounds of it. That discussion about Shadow was probably a necessary one. O...

Wow! Excellent use of the existing materials, and extrapolating what might happen based on how the PCs react and perform, Michebugio.

Re: [Tale of Years] The Fellowship of the Free (Spoilers)

Awesome summary! As I was reading it two thoughts occurred to me: 1) Thogrim must have had a Bout of Madness, and 2) The bit from the movie about Dwarves running over short distances (I was picturing Thogrim's shorter, stubby legs as he outdistanced his mates) Nice to see that you then hit both poin...
