Re: Advice for a magic item/wondrous artifact

Even if you decide to go with Survival (or Stealth, or Perception, or whatever), by making it give Advantage (roll two dice, take the best result), it gives a mechanical benefit that is nice, but not overpowered.

Re: Marsh Bell, Don't Leave the Path, or Journey's End & Eagle's Eyrie?

One thing to keep in mind with 5E/AME is that it's about the only time in a campaign when you have to be concerned about a TPK. I've read that many 5E GMs choose to start their PCs at 2nd level because of this. Probably any of the various adventures will work fine, but just remember to be careful wh...

Re: Tell me about your Magic Items!

Many of the items with Blessings I've kept fairly vague (a cloak with a Blessing to Explore, a ring with a Blessing to Awareness, etc.). The seeing stone (below) is not a palantiri. Some of the more interesting items include: Buckler [Famous Armour] Elven-make Superior Reinforced: Parry +2; if Valou...

Re: How much XP granted after a finished adventure?

I went with about 2 XP for shorter adventures, and 5-6 for longer ones. We tend to play longer sessions (5-6 hours at a time).

There's been a few characters that have retired, as the PCs have adventured now for over 20 years.

Re: RAW Travel and Corruption Tests

Personally, I always use the difficulty of the particular Region, as it makes it a bit more challenging.

Re: Seeking Advice: Kinstrife and Dark Tidings

Are you running the battle with the proper combat rules, or are you going to use a Mass Battle system (such as the one done by James Brown ? What stats are you using for the villagers? I'm interested because (knowing my group) they may also consider this as the proper 'heroic' option to choose: def...

Re: Coming Soon for Adventures in Middle-earth: Mirkwood Campaign

Does anybody have a good dwarven city map that they may have used for Frar the Beardless and his quest to retake Greydelve? While I did that 'quest' with my campaign, I did so right before we switched (from TOR to AME), so I didn't have any kind of map or city. It was all theater of the mind for th...

Re: Yuletide in Wilderland

I suddenly feel like rewriting the Grinch using a Ring-wraith. 3 times 0 equals 0 so I'm not sure that would work. But maybe a renegade half-orc, living in a cave overlooking a village. With a Warg pup... And what happened then? Well...in Hobbitville they say, That the Half-Orc's small heart grew t...

Re: Moria

Frankly, this would be a good way for people like me to find out and get a good look at the AiME system. I remember Decipher's first game set as an introduction to Moria ( I played it with my kids) and later got the Decipher Moria set because of it. Point made. LOL! This part of your post brought b...
