Re: Soundtrack tips for Oaths?

You might want to check Wardruna - Runaljod album. Wardruma made the Vikings series opening track and made a lot more beautifull sounds. Very atmospheric Nordic -thus usefull for the Norhtmen cultural sphere and Rhohirim? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Zdg-AMv8tw The link to that youtube album yo...

Re: Miniatures for TOR

A question has been on my mind since a while: exactly how do you use your miniatures in this system? Do you just put them on the stance/journey map and enjoy their 'prop value'? That's the way I've been doing it and I think they're a great way to visualise monsters and very efficient 'size referenc...

Re: Hoping for an Endgame sourcebook

If you need any further ideas about massed battles and large skirmishes focussed exclusively on LotR or the Silmarilion themes then there is the 'Wargaming in Middle Earth' Facebook page. Recently someone has posted unit specific stats for the SAGA skirmish battles. and for more epic, large scale ba...

Re: A Wizard by your side

I wonder if thematically there could be conundrums that capture something of the problem of having a wizard alongside the company. For example you mentioned the use of magic/lightening by the wizard. In the LotR Gandalf says something about having announced himself to all that he is in a location ha...

Re: "Tolkienish" places in England

Matt, that's all amazing! And that picture of the Mud Maid really deserves an Entwife adventure for TOR... Well you should read Rich H's current campaign involving (intermittently) an entwife though it isn't a happy story to begin with... There was an adventure placing the entives at the centre of ...

Re: Ruins of the North as a Campaign

I'm looking for ideas for the wose that appears in "Company of the Wain". We played recently the first part of the scenario and my group saved the wose. So he is with them for a year. What can I do with him to give him flavor? The supplement doesn't explain very well what woses are (and I don't hav...

Matt, that's all amazing! And that picture of the Mud Maid really deserves an Entwife adventure for TOR... Ha - you're welcome - maybe I should set myself up as a tour guide for Hobbit Holidays - excursions to suit every Halfling pocket. The mud maid could be one of the Goddesses - Yavanna maybe? S...

Re: "Tolkienish" places in England

If it's more the feel of countryside or scenes that are Tolkienish in nature you want then below are perhaps evocative... The Burial Mounds at Sutton Hoo. Stane Street, Leper's Path and Gumber Lynchets, West Sussex - and old Roman Road and walk in the South of England. The Roman Bath Houses in Bath ...

All those Rangers of the North Player Characters will sit quietly during this discussion...! Except at the point of whether more than half the companions agree for use of the Fellowship Pool
