Advice for a magic item/wondrous artifact

Just ran eaves of mirkwood and one of the characters wanted to make a cloak from the skin of greymuzzle hob. I decided to have this be a magical item, and initially it was going to have the gift of survival on it. I don't really want this to be an item that will help with all the things the survival...

2nd session is in the books (Spoilers for Eaves of Mirkwood)

A recap of my first session can be found here. http://forums.cubicle7.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=9867 Just ran my second session, continuing and finishing Eaves of Mirkwood. We left off last time with the party encountering a group of outlaws on the edge of the forest. We were a group of three (2 pc...

Re: Non Beorning Beornings

This clears things up for me... thanks all. Was really not trying to look for loopholes in character creation or anything.

Re: Non Beorning Beornings

QP, Can you clarify what he wants to gain from declaring himself a Beorning? So he starts off as a Man of Gondor but then does what? Is it as ThrorII suggest, and the player just wants to gain the best of both Cultures? :ugeek: I am just thinking said gondorian has become disenfranchised with life ...

Re: Non Beorning Beornings

To start off, I'll say I have nothing against the Beorning culture and how they're set up. I was basically thinking about the Beorning culture as a whole. First off, as I understand it, there was not a beorning culture prior to the Bo5A. So, as the ph mentions, he attracted mountain-hunters and figh...

Non Beorning Beornings

Would you allow a non-beornish mannish race to declare themselves Beorning culturally, but, because they only did so within the past 5 years, have a virtue of their original race? Say a man of gondor, who left Minas Tirith to join the beornings, but wanted to have the steely gaze virtue, +/- to attr...

When I read the thread title, I thought somebody was upset with Beorn. As in:

"_________ Beorn!"
I kind of thought the same after I posted it. I have updated the title for more clarification.

(Title) Beorn (or what would you call him)

A simple question here...what would Beorn's followers call him? Lord Beorn...Chief Beorn, King Beorn? It never came up I. My play session, but it may and I want to. E prepared.

Thanks,

Re: Nice summary

Quincy, Sound like a great start! Question as fellow LM, how did you handle XP with this group? How did the toll collection go? And what was the toll? Sound like your group really like the role-playing aspect and that's great. In the Eaves, I didn't get the personality of the Dwarves down as much a...

I ran my first session last night

Seeing as gaming groups are sparse in my little town, I got a small group of friends together and started my first ever game ever as a DM/LM. Of the three players I had, only two were able to make it, so I ran an npc to accompany then til we get to full strength. I started them on Eaves of Mirkwood,...
