Re: advice on exhaustion and rest on adventures

Is it safe to say that task rolls on journeys do not suffer the effects of exhaustion? (Disadvantage on skill checks - 1 level of exhaustion). Nor does journey time? (Speed halved - 2 levels of exhaustion) I'm currently ruling that neither are effected but I'm curious what others think. I think you...

Re: DC checks during Journeys

Or, you can do what I propose and do: Use the 'average' Peril rating (per RAW) for Embarkments and Arrivals, but use the ACTUAL Peril rating for the region the event takes place in. That way, events in Mirkwood or the High Pass are always harder, regardless of how easy the rest of the journey is. C...

Re: DC checks during Journeys

Yes, they are for Journey Events only. In other cases the LM is setting DC :)

Re: Wanderer aptitude and Long Rest

Zealous Munchkins will commit it to memory or take a picture of it with their smartphone so they'll have it even if you don't allow referring to game-books during play. 1. You play with people that try to cheat LM? If yes, change them. If not, no reason to bother about potential cheaters. 2. Cellph...

Re: Fate of Goblin slaves - a moral dilemma

Bear in mind that whether or not orcs are 'redeemable' in an absolute sense is not something anybody less than Elrond or Gandalf...if even they...would have much insight on. We have full knowledge of the Silmarillion and Tolkien's letters and even we can't agree. I hardly expect your typical Hobbit...

Re: Fate of Goblin slaves - a moral dilemma

Whoa... I am surprised, that this topic caused so much disagreement on one of the basic pillars of this gaming system  My question was "what would typical elf and/or Dunedain do with goblin prisoners" (and I would like to thank you for your answers, they were most inspiring :) ), not the "if ...

Re: Fate of Goblin slaves - a moral dilemma

Of course, and I am not asking for perfect solution. That would be the player's decision, but I am curious how do you think how would archetypical elf or Dunedain would act in such situation. Also I am curious if you would find that moral dilemma interesting for your playing group (or have you faced...

Fate of Goblin slaves - a moral dilemma

Hi Currently I am running the adventure converted from TOR - Ruins of the North, "Harder than Stone" for my mixed elven/Dunedain party. On the last session, a pair of player's heroes (backed by few NPCs) decided that they are going to enter the tunnels, where (as they know) the group of goblin slave...

Is there a consequence for failed quests?
Gobbled goblins and mourning hobbits, I presume.

Re: We need to talk about the Slayer

Here is another thought I had. How would it work if while in a Battle-Fury a Slayer can not gain the AC bonus from a Shield or Great Shield? This would allow the Slayer to still get a very high AC, but if they want the Resistance to damage and other benefits a Fur Provides, they have to forgo it fo...
