Re: Are these prices correct?

Cutting coin to get the fraction of its value was very common practice in ancient times, dark ages and in early medieval period, because the value of the ore it was made of, was greater than the currency value of given country or ruler. Such coins (especially silver dirhams from Cordoba Caliphate an...

Re: Relief from long burdens

the default rule (p. 50 of the LMG) seems to state that long rests aren't allowed on journeys at all. Options exist for LMs to allow them, of course, like the ones you mention. I'm not sure if rules have come out since that have amended that. My point is, as namkcor was mentioning, keeping long res...

Re: Are these prices correct?

There is a topic about errata (with the location of errata mentioned):
https://forums.cubicle7.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=9463

Maybe admins should merge those two, to avoid multiplying threads ?

Re: Creating a Wondrous Artefact

I'd say a Medium Effect might be along the lines of convincing your mount (and/or companion's mounts) to enter Mirkwood; or carry a wounded/unconscious rider to a Sanctuary (like Glorfindel's mount carrying Frodo across the Ford towards Rivendell, even though there are 9 Nazgul chasing it). Absolut...

Re: Horses / Ponies in Mirkwood

Of course, it's only my interpretation/houserule (based on exception mentioned in WA, that there are such animals, trained to face dangers of Mirkwood), and as a LM you can, by all means, declare that such test is necessary on Old Dwarf Road, even with trained horses/ponies. Btw, the reason that I l...

Re: Converting High Elves of Rivendell

I agree with most of the Otaku-sempai estimations, but my version of High Elves cultural attitudes is slightly different (differences in bold ). Starting Attitudes of the High Elves of Rivendell Toward: - Bardings: Unknown - Beornings: Unknown - Bree-folk: Askance - Dúnedain: Favoured - Dwarves of t...

Re: Horses / Ponies in Mirkwood

Although the p. 166 of PG indeed says that "Nothing can get a horse or pony deep beneath the eaves of Mirkwood", in the Wilderland Adventures are described ordinary ponies that do not share such objections: Most ponies refuse to travel under the eaves of Mirkwood, but these hardy beasts have been ac...

Re: The Forest Dragon

Nice, I wonder what would be his final challenge rating :) I have one question though: Thick Hide: When an attacker gets a critical fumble (rolls a 1), they drop their weapon and must use an entire turn recovering it. I suppose that this effect is triggered only by melee attacks? Also it's recoverin...

Re: Mundane Rewards

Weapons and items with small houseruled bonuses are perfectly OK if you introduce them in moderation and you're not afraid that your players would stack or abuse them ("I would remind you, kind Loremaster, that my Beeswax Bowstring of the Beornings along with Bardish Bracer of Bowcraft, combined wit...

Re: Converting High Elves of Rivendell

High Elves (by the narrowest definition) have dwelt in Aman and seen the light of the Two Trees. That gives them a spiritual component that is unmatched among other Elves or any other race of Middle-earth. I am well aware of that, I was not asking about how it was portrayed in Tolkien's works, but ...
