Re: No crossbow in this game version

I won't be happy until my Hobbit can dual-wield hand crossbows. RAW you can't do Two-Weapon Fighting with hand crossbows in 5e - TWF requires specifically light *melee* weapons. You could do it with the Crossbow Expert feat (which gives you a Bonus Action attack with a loaded hand crossbow you're h...

Re: Why does the Scholar suck so bad

Since none of the cultural virtues would negate a "negative fire into combat modifier", and AiME does not specifically state that there is such a modifier, I also removed said modifier to give the Scholar a better chance of being able to fire into combat. Of course, I also removed the modifier for ...

Re: Availability of Multiclassing and PHB feats

Ah, so I did miss that. I'd have read more closely if I was the Loremaster for our group.

What about feats, though?

Availability of Multiclassing and PHB feats

What is the intended availability of things like multiclassing and PHB feats? The Loremaster's Guide discusses the possibility of including spellcasting, but (and admittedly I haven't read every single page) I haven't seen any references to these options. Personally our group is at least allowing fe...

Re: Elvish Dreams Question

The 5e Trance seems to be based on the Elves' Reverie from AD&D 2e which itself can be traced to Legolas at rest in LotR . In mechanical terms, reverie is the formal name for the elven ability of Less Sleep: "The elf requires only four hours worth of sleep to be rested. This is especially valuable ...

Re: Elvish Dreams Question

I still have a question on this one. Given the wording suggests you have full consciousness of surroundings it does imply that long rests can be taken during a journey which is a considerable advantage. You don't need to wait for a 'safe' spot - just not be interrupted for a 4 hour period. Thoughts...

Re: Elvish Dreams Question

Which is why I acknowledged that that was core 5e, and not AiME. I just wanted to give the ruling on how that ability is supposed to interact with Long Rests there, so you can use that to inform how you handle it.

Re: Elvish Dreams Question

Elves in core 5th edition have the Trance trait, which provides the same benefit. The official Sage Advice on this is that the intent is no, the Trance trait doesn't let an elf Long Rest in 4 hours; you will be fully rested the way a human is after his 8 hours of sleep, but still must relax for anot...
