Re: Cubicle 7 and Games Workshop announce new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

I agree! Having never played the tabletop wargame myself, I've just read through the 8E high elven armybook. While it had some content that would translate fine to the rpg, a supplement would need a lot more personal level details. The examples you've mentioned would be awesome.

Re: Cubicle 7 and Games Workshop announce new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

So, I want WFRP4 to have a familiar, straight forward system that doesn't get in the way of roleplaying and atmosphere. A system where it doesn't require much thought to take something from any previous edition and adapt it. I want scenarios coming out of the wazzooo. It works for CoC, which C7 wri...

Re: Cubicle 7 and Games Workshop announce new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

As for myself, I like separate regional sourcebooks with a separate adventure anthology or campaign books tied to them, exactly how The One Ring line is released.

Re: Cubicle 7 and Games Workshop announce new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

I'm honestly not sure where I stand on this issue. But I think that one should consider that the old career system because of the way it was built allowed us to have lots and lots of choices. I'm guessing if we were to allow a new career system where you could stay with a single career it indefinit...

Re: Cubicle 7 and Games Workshop announce new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

I'm curious: how many posters in this thread are familiar with or active on the Strike to Stun forums or the FFG WFRP forums? I'm trying to get a picture of how many people are established (community) fans and how many people are relatively new. Regards, Robin Strike to Stun member here, though I o...

Two things I'm certain of

1. Cubicle 7 are not novices when it comes to creating rpgs
2. You cannot please everyone
THIS! Words of wisdom!

Re: Cubicle 7 and Games Workshop announce new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Concerning expansions, what I'm most interested in is a wood elves / Athel Loren sourcebook. I have never played the wargame, but recently I got hold of the 8E wood elven army book, and holy cow, it spawned a bucketful of cool adventure ideas. I need more elven weapons, riding stags and unicorns in ...

4e is supposed to be mechanically compatible with 2e material.

The crew did not mention backwards compatibility anywhere!

Re: Cubicle 7 and Games Workshop announce new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

I believe C7 will come up with a great version of the d100 system that elegantly and simply fixes the inherent issues that we've all seen with the previous iterations. I pretty much agree with you there. I just sincerely hope that all these forum posts are not leading the designers astray. The d100...

Re: Warhammer Age of Sigmar Roleplaying Game Announced!

This is a great time to be a C7 fan! Absolutely! I am quite happy for this announcement as well. On one hand, I'm kind of curious what kind of ruleset and worldbuilding will the guys develop. But the biggest win is that the Old World WFRP line can stay oldschool but more streamlined while the AoS l...
