Re: Cubicle 7 and Games Workshop announce new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

I don’t think it was extensively detailed in 1ed, but it’s setting flavour was apparent. Essentially combined with the Empire it really gave the flavour of a renassiance/late renassiance setting which really distinguished WFRP from the popular medieval settings at the time. WFRP felt like a fresh ne...

Yes the 1ed Bretonnia really helped to set the old world apart from other settings. Certainly my preference. Look forward to seeing how cubicle 7 handle that one, as they always seem to have a strong grip on the usp of their games.

Re: AME & TOR combat equivalents

After reading through this thread, it's got me to wondering. I wonder if I should change her ability, to instead give each member of the Fellowship Inspiration instead. Both versions of the feat you mentioned seem fitting to me. I haven't read what the Lore Masters Guide says about "inspiration" ye...

Re: AME & TOR combat equivalents

Well, Intimidate is a skill for AiMe. And a Charisma test (Performance) might be used to try to rally your companions. The Slayer path: The Rider can acquire the ability Intimidating Presence that can be used while mounted. The Rider ability Horn Wildly Blowing is used to inspire allies. The Warden...

Re: Play styles: Adventures in middle earth vs The One ring

They will be utilized like Hero Points (+1d6 bonus on a roll, per point spent, 1 point per roll allowed, can use 1 point to auto pass one death save) I recently just noted that the Warrior Archetype's knight has pretty much the same mechanic/theme built into "Officer" ability, as the DMG hero point...

Re: AME & TOR combat equivalents

The Inspiration rules are in the SRD-OGL document for D&D 5e. Of course if you are attempting to rally your comrades with a song or stirring speech, I would assume you already have a friendly audience. Would that have any effect--i.e. granting advantage--even without spending inspiration? Good poin...

Re: AME & TOR combat equivalents

That seems pretty straightforward. If you make a Charisma check (either Intimidation or Performance) and you have inspiration, you can expend it to gain advantage on that roll. And inspiration can be passed on to another player-hero if you have a good reason to do so. Great. Yes I was just trying t...

Re: AME & TOR combat equivalents

It strikes me that the inspiration mechanic could also be a good way of invoking an aspect like "rally troupes" perhaps in conjunction with a charisma roll? Not sure is RAW allows for sharing an inspiration with your fellowship, but it seems a very Tolkien use of the inspiration mechanic. Perhaps it...

Re: AME & TOR combat equivalents

Thanks - that's really helpful. I've been flicking through the rules in AME, but it takes a while to familiarise yourself with the separate class abilities and virtues etc. I really like the flavour and tone set by TOR, and found it very evocative of the books, and was curious to see how that could ...
