Re: Spoilers: speculation re a WA villain

I think it's Irime's psyche taking her memories of when Annatar came among the Noldor of Eregion offering great gifts that turned into great destruction and putting them forth into a current temptation for the Player Characters and NPCs.

a good thing to reward clever players for their creativity and thinking outside the box.
Yes! This is a great way of putting it. It's exactly what I want to do going forward.

Re: Spoilers: speculation re a WA villain

Isn't this part of Those who Tarry No Longer a dream? As in it doesn't actually occur? So the Annatar tempting the party represents how Sauron tempted the Noldor.

Re: I ran Eaves of Mirkwood last night.

Also, here are somethings I learned along the way. My biggest mistake of the night came during the Journey phase. Players encountered a downed bridge, and the adventure says they can get across without ill effect through a survival or Athletics check. When my player's started thinking up approaches ...

I ran Eaves of Mirkwood last night.

So after more than a year of trying to get my friends to play AiME, I finally got 3 of them to play on Saturday night. We ran through Eaves of Mirkwood, and the whole thing took right about 3 hours. We used the premade characters Trotter, Beran, and the Bride. I also had an NPC warrior in the party ...

Has anyone ever questioned why the Elves never took the Lamp in the first place when they deserted Amon Lanc?
Perhaps it was grief for the land they were leaving. Maybe even foresight that it was doomed to have a part to play in later events?

Who can understand the minds of Elves anyway?

Re: Horses / Ponies in Mirkwood

Not all parts of Mirkwood are equally dangerous. the Elf path would be slightly easier than Southern Mirkwood I would think, but likely still trouble.

If all parts of the Journey were known lands to a Wanderer in the party, I would probably give Advantage on checks to keep the Mount from running off.

Thank you... I copied my PDF to my iPad and was reading it from there.
You're welcome.

They way they break out the maps from the rest of the book is very convenient for running adventures, until you forget about it :D

Re: Gatehouse (5 on the map) in Loremaster's Guide

On page 28 in the Loremaster's guide, it references a map. I don't seem to be able to find this map. Can anyone direct me to what I'm doing wrong? Are you using the Physical Copy or the PDF? if you are using the PDF, the Lore Master's Guide Endpapers was a separate PDF that should have been downloa...

Where would I find the rules for this optional rule. It sounds like something I would like to look into.
