Re: What to run first?

Eaves of Mirkwood is perfect for those who have played 5e, but haven't tried AiME. It highlights new things like Journeys and Audiences, but is quick enough to do in one session.

I think it's the perfect starting point.

Re: Are these prices correct?

I've always left rations as something of an abstract. Characters resupply them in downtime or a fellowship phase, presumably by trading various items from their own culture, or just include them as part of their standard of living. It's to much of a headache for me to keep track of the minutiae. But...

Re: Hobbits and weapon size

For any culture that can field a standing army (such as Gondor), the short sword should be pretty common, being the close-up weapon of choice for the infantry soldier. Axes would replace short swords in such cultures as the Beornings and Woodmen. Indeed. I think it fairly likely that "wilder" cultu...

Re: Coming Soon for Adventures in Middle-earth: Mirkwood Campaign

Because, the White Council was horribly ineffective. Gandalf learned the Necromancer was Sauron in the 2800's, and the WC didn't lift a finger for a hundred years. The WC is not some Delta Force squad that drops in and solves the problem. They wait, then they ponder, then they meet, then they wait ...

You *really* want both. The TOR books actively reference each other, and having only one or the other leaves a noticeable gap.
Oh I know I want both. Unfortunately It has to be one first and the other later. Hopefully not much later, but life doesn't always go the way I want it to.

Marsh-dwellers (and Gallows-weed) appear in the Rhovanion Region Guide.
Oh I haven't picked that one up yet (and it might have to take a backseat to Mirkwood) thanks for the heads up.

Re: I ran Eaves of Mirkwood last night.

I've watched a couple of twitch sessions running WA's, Don't Leave the Path, & Stewed Hobbits... these seem to be East to West adventures so far. The practical part of me sees no sense in having the players take the dangerous trip through the Mirkwood, only to be told to turn around and head back. ...

Re: I ran Eaves of Mirkwood last night.

I'm planning on running this adventure (first time LMing) , but with full embarkation/journey event/arrival rolls etc. I'll probably have Gailavira's farmstead somewhere near the western entrance of the elf-path. I don't have Wilderland Adventures yet, so I'm not sure what to do after that. The goa...
