Re: Dwarven Rings

Gandalf might have been speaking literally when he said that rings were "consumed by dragons". Instead of being destroyed by dragon-fire the rings could have been swallowed along with thier wearers while fighting dragons. If you are so inclined, you could "reintroduce" such a ring if/when the heroes...

Fair enough, but I'd like to see an elve hit a sparrow's eye with an arrow at fifty paces!
Would you like to see it again? ;)

Re: The Hall of Fire Webzine

I'd be willing to contribute something. At the very least I could update and revise the article I did on bows to TOR and AiME rules.

It's nice to see a post from some of the old TrekRPG crowd.

Re: Attributes for woodelve archer

My turn for grief giving!! :D Ain't no such thing as an elve . Yes there is! Elve: a form of electrical discharge that is emitted upward from the top of a cumulonimbus cloud during a thunderstorm and that usually appears as a very short-lived reddish circle of light. The plural form of elve is elves...

Re: So! What's going on with TOR?

Yeah, it's one of the problems with gaming in the late 3rd age. Basically just about everybody North of Gondor has become isolated and stays at home, except the Rangers, whose true identity and purpose is kept secret. So whenever the PC adventures go someplace, they can easily make statements in LOt...

Re: Bestiary

It also seems likely that C7 would probably hold off on an AiME Bestiary until they write up/create those monsters for TOR.

Re: Bestiary

Yeah, a Middle Earth MM would be thin. Decipher did one and had to combine it with some expanded rules for magic and magical items to fill out the book ( Fell Beats & Wondrous Magic ). In fact, C7 has, in some ways, has expanded upon what ICE and Decipher did, by dividing goblins and orcs up into di...

Re: Valour and Fear

I think what might work would be if failing a fear test raised the difficulty tasks that require facing the fear. It makes sense too, since it would be a lot more difficult for someone to, say, fight a spider effectively, if he is deathly afraid of them. Or, if you want to make the penalty for faili...

Re: Alternate forums?

The lack of activity might be due to the general simplicity of the game system. So there isn't a lot of game mechanics that need to be discussed or debated. The low keyed/low powered approach of magic means there is less to debate about there, and no need for stacking limits, since few characters wi...

Re: Colourblind friendly maps

Yeah, but if you do it on the computer instead of at the printer, you can make adjustments, such as improving the contrast or replacing one shade of gray with another. Hatching or other patterns are a bit more difficult, thanks to the hex grid. But I think if I change the default color of the hex gr...
