Re: Question About Character Progression

5th is just horrible. imho For me 5th took the fun out of what made D&D special. 5th was all about making characters super powerful and haveing these crazy off the wall classes that felt like you were a GOD at low levels. Not sure what you are talking about. 5th Ed is a lot like 1st and 2nd Ed AD&D...

Re: Question About Character Progression

If you do not want to get into a brand new system, but still want to play in Middle-earth, you could always go with Adventures in Middle-Earth. It is also by C7 and combines Middle-Earth and D&D 5E rules. It also uses all the same background and fluff details that are used in The One Ring.

Re: Nazgul and water

Flowing water also has both a real and symbolic cleansing effect, the washing away of the bad. They were willing to enter the slow, sluggish flow of water to pursue Frodo, but the fast flow that was summoned washed them away. At the ford, the water would not have been moving all that swiftly, but it...

Re: Nazgul and water

No, but the Wraith was foiled in its ability to pursue Frodo and the others at the Bucklebury Ferry, having to go around all the way to the Brandywine Bridge. Mmm---because they had brought the ferry across tho right? So it's option would have been to physically/bodily enter the waters with its hor...

Re: So! What's going on with TOR?

I do not own all the TOR books right now, so maybe someone else can confirm this, but to my knowledge, none of the sourcebooks released so far go right up to the same year that Fellowship starts. After all, the game starts five years after the end of The Hobbit, so it would stand to reason they may...

Re: So! What's going on with TOR?

I have this crazy idea that, with the rules for Courage, Eye Awareness, etc., we're not actually that far off being able to run the fellowship on their way to Mordor. Is it nuts to think that a future Mordor supplement (plus maybe an epic/open-ended campaign like DoM) might detail enough of the Ene...

Re: Bestiary

This is really something that should be included with the screen, in addition to, or in place of, the intro adventure. A 32-page booklet of monsters and creatures would be just about right for Middle-Earth.

Re: Bestiary

Middle-Earth specific creatures will show up in the various adventures and in the LMG. As for a more general book of monsters, I would guess they will simply point you at the 5E D&D Monster Manual, or at least to the free basic rules/SRD for all the monsters that are not IP of WotC.

cb71002 is the number for the original extra set of dice you could buy.

No clue about the others.

Re: Sindarin and Half Elves

Not sure about Sindarin, but I would treat Half-Elves the same as their Elven parent, unless they choose to be mortal. At that point I am not sure if I would treat them the same as their Human parent or homebrew up some sort of in between rules for them. Without going to Tolkien's books to look it u...
