Re: Questions about Audiences

Ah, got it now. The DC 15 check is only for determining if the group will go one attitute lower or not. And then the same result is matched into the 0-10-20 ranges, within the correct attitute. It makes sense now! Thanks ThrorII! :) Not quite. FIRST, one player must make a DC15 Traditions check, st...

Re: Questions about Audiences

As I understand it, it is an 'open ended' roll. You make your Persuade, Intimidate, whatever check, and your result is checked against table for your attitude and the DC's listed. So, if your culture is 'favored', then you roll on the 'Favored' attitude reaction. if your roll only meets or exceeds D...

Re: advice on exhaustion and rest on adventures

Is it safe to say that task rolls on journeys do not suffer the effects of exhaustion? (Disadvantage on skill checks - 1 level of exhaustion). Nor does journey time? (Speed halved - 2 levels of exhaustion) I'm currently ruling that neither are effected but I'm curious what others think. I think you...

Rohan, specifically Edoras. As a 1/2 Swede, I think I'd really enjoy Mead-ing it up with a bunch of Viking-horsemen and tall, blonde shield-maidens..... :P

Re: Converting MERP Levels to AIM/5e Levels for My Upcoming Campaign

I also built the Fellowship using the AiMe rules, and have seen several prominent NPCs written up in official sources. Here is my take on the characters at the start of the Fellowship, using only the Core rules and looking at specific abilities each character 'had to' have: Saruman (Scholar 20/HD20)...

Re: DC checks during Journeys

Or, you can do what I propose and do: Use the 'average' Peril rating (per RAW) for Embarkments and Arrivals, but use the ACTUAL Peril rating for the region the event takes place in. That way, events in Mirkwood or the High Pass are always harder, regardless of how easy the rest of the journey is. Co...

My first instinct is that you should choose when you first declare your attack, but I don't know that others would agree.

Re: Realism in Middle-earth

Even with those, however, I'd like to imagine that denizens of Middle-earth came up with...or evolved ..."dice" that are different from ours, and are played with different rules. Yes, Middle-earth dice are 12-sided, and have an Eye for '1' and a G-rune for 12...... :D Sorry, I've been thoroughly en...

Re: AiME Journey Calculator

Very nice!!!

Any chance that you could pre-program the Embarkation roll/results? So if you put the roll in (1 or less; 2-7; 8+) it will print out the results and effect? Same for the Journey roll/results?

Just a thought.
