Re: Your personal wishlist for TOR books

A Shire book to play hobbits, with adventures aimed at children (like the "Hero Kids" game, aka including simpler rules, and easy-peasy scenarios for players starting at 5 years old and up).

Literacy in Middle-Earth?

In my last game the question came up: what's the level of literacy in Middle-Earth? Meaning, if you meet someone, how likely is that person to be able to write and read? My take is that it seems like many characters can write and read in Lotr. So I think the level of literacy is quite high. But it m...

Re: Frár's Beard (...or Lack Thereof.)

I also went with the "it's a nickname that stick after the beard grew back". I think pretending that his beard take so long to grow back is unnecessary and a strech of the imagination...

How to make standing relevant?

Hello, My players seems to think that standing is not important. We have been playing Darkenning for a while, and they don't even try (or care) to raise their standing. One of the reason, I think, is that often they represent Radagast at important meeting (aka Radagast officially send them) so that ...

Re: Journey

The one thing that I have never really liked doing is "fast forwarding" through the journeys, and just hitting the highlights. Contrary to D&D, at "The One Ring" you NEVER fast forward through the journeys. That's what the journey's rules are for. Especially the hazards. But even if the players don...

Does anyone know if it is set during or after the Darkening of Mirkwood?
I would also be interested to know at which date it is set. ;)

Re: Hobbit adventures for children

I think that a supplement with simplified rules for TOR and hobbit adventures for children is a wonderful idea for Culbicle7! They should definitely do it!
