Re: Cubicle 7 and Games Workshop announce new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

I was just having a look at Ralph Horsley's new covers again and comparing them with covers he did for Black Industries and WFRP2. These new pieces really are significantly better, not merely in subject matter but also the colours. There's a far greater clarity to them. I do miss his black and white...

Re: Cubicle 7 and Games Workshop announce new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

You’re right Robin, in my enthusiasm I overstated by saying “really long report”. In the context of how much he spoke about, right after the initial announcement, I remember the ensuIng discussion seeming a lot more extensive than it now looks! My intended point was that we’ve spoken with lots of p...

Re: Cubicle 7 and Games Workshop announce new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

I was trying to work out the total number of fans we've met just across Warhammer Fest, GenCon, Origins, UK Games Expo, Pax U (edit! Forgot Essen!!!). It's tens of thousands. I must admit, when I asked the question I'd misinterpreted the bit I quoted as meaning experienced fans who C7 had actively ...

Re: Cubicle 7 and Games Workshop announce new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

That logo needs to be taken out and shot. I really hope it's just a placeholder. I presume it has to look that way because the'Warhammer' element has to be in Games Workshop Warhammer logo. Yeah, I suspect you're probably right. It really is pretty awful though. The two styles simply do not work to...

Re: Cubicle 7 and Games Workshop announce new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

I love the two covers. A lot.

That logo needs to be taken out and shot. I really hope it's just a placeholder.

I'd be very interested in knowing who "all the Warhammer fans we’ve been talking to" actually are. Anyone know?

Regards,

Robin

Re: Cubicle 7 and Games Workshop announce new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Well, as far as I understood the news, it will be based on WFRP2. But that might also mean they start there and improve it. The C7 home page from the 24th May says: The new edition will return players to Warhammer's grim world of perilous adventure, and takes its direction from the first and second...

Re: Cubicle 7 and Games Workshop announce new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Please don't categorise the regions based on their favoured method of warfare. Yes to take this further, I hope for a move away from the war orientated aesthetic of WFB. I found the 2ed WFRP cover too much in the WFB mould, lots of bodies war and killing with no where for the eye to rest, not quite...

Re: Cubicle 7 and Games Workshop announce new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

I agree! Having never played the tabletop wargame myself, I've just read through the 8E high elven armybook. While it had some content that would translate fine to the rpg, a supplement would need a lot more personal level details. The examples you've mentioned would be awesome. Thanks, I appreciat...

Re: Cubicle 7 and Games Workshop announce new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Couldn't have said it better myself! Ps.: I'm one of those guys who'd love an Ulthuan sourcebook. Thanks! I wouldn't mind an Ulthuan sourcebooks as long as: 1) it steps beyond the military history that we've already seen repeatedly in the Army books 2) it provides a solid reason to travel to and sp...

Re: Cubicle 7 and Games Workshop announce new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

My apologies in advance - due to lack of time, the following turns into a ramble. Our group has almost all the supplements of 2nd edition, and also some of the old 1st edition, so i think that we pass on the 4th, if it is d100. What if it produces good scenarios and setting material? Would you buy t...
