Re: Cubicle 7 and Games Workshop announce new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Well, as far as I understood the news, it will be based on WFRP2. But that might also mean they start there and improve it. The C7 home page from the 24th May says: The new edition will return players to Warhammer's grim world of perilous adventure, and takes its direction from the first and second...

Re: Cubicle 7 and Games Workshop announce new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Please don't categorise the regions based on their favoured method of warfare. Yes to take this further, I hope for a move away from the war orientated aesthetic of WFB. I found the 2ed WFRP cover too much in the WFB mould, lots of bodies war and killing with no where for the eye to rest, not quite...

Re: Cubicle 7 and Games Workshop announce new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

I agree! Having never played the tabletop wargame myself, I've just read through the 8E high elven armybook. While it had some content that would translate fine to the rpg, a supplement would need a lot more personal level details. The examples you've mentioned would be awesome. Thanks, I appreciat...

Re: Cubicle 7 and Games Workshop announce new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Couldn't have said it better myself! Ps.: I'm one of those guys who'd love an Ulthuan sourcebook. Thanks! I wouldn't mind an Ulthuan sourcebooks as long as: 1) it steps beyond the military history that we've already seen repeatedly in the Army books 2) it provides a solid reason to travel to and sp...

Re: Cubicle 7 and Games Workshop announce new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

My apologies in advance - due to lack of time, the following turns into a ramble. Our group has almost all the supplements of 2nd edition, and also some of the old 1st edition, so i think that we pass on the 4th, if it is d100. What if it produces good scenarios and setting material? Would you buy t...

Re: Cubicle 7 and Games Workshop announce new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

I posted on StS periodically but I didn't find it until well after 2nd Ed died. Third edition really put me off too. It would be interesting to know how many people WFRP3 lost us. It's certainly true that WFRP3 gained us people as well, but a lot of them seem to have vanished as well now. Mind you,...

Re: Cubicle 7 and Games Workshop announce new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Having only played 1ed, I find the concept of a Bretonnia more in the vain of pre revolutionary France more interesting from my roleplaying point of view. You still have this 2 tier class structure, the decadent nobles vs the peasant, but its set in an era that feels more high renaissance then medi...

Re: Cubicle 7 and Games Workshop announce new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

I'm curious: how many posters in this thread are familiar with or active on the Strike to Stun forums or the FFG WFRP forums?

I'm trying to get a picture of how many people are established (community) fans and how many people are relatively new.

Regards,

Robin

Re: Cubicle 7 and Games Workshop announce new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Hmmmmm.... Here and over at rpg.net, folk are arguing over rules. Now, don't get me wrong, I've already indicated that I have a personal preference for percentile by way of CoC7, so you know where I stand on this. However, I've also said I'd be happy to play WFRP using Savage Worlds, Over the Edge, ...
