Re: Cubicle 7 and Games Workshop announce new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

I'm not talking about the 3E approach of simply taking the iconic name The Enemy Within and then writing up a new campaign that had some references to it. I'm talking about actually rereleasing the original campaign as it was, but with graphical overhaul and tidying up. the original campaign has ac...

Re: Cubicle 7 and Games Workshop announce new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

This thread sums up how I feel about the new edition, in particular the desire for Martin McKenna type art:

Re: Cubicle 7 and Games Workshop announce new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Has anyone heard if there are plans to produce sourcebooks etc. for the 'rest of the world'? I would love to see a decent WFRP Cathay, Southlands, Lustria etc... If they do so I hope the sourcebook information is packaged around a campaign, preferably ones that can take existing characters on a jou...

Re: Cubicle 7 and Games Workshop announce new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

A thread has opened up about the new WFRP on the Basic Roleplay Forum (essentially Chaosium games). I thought would repeat one of the posts here because it essentially summarises how I feel the game should be: "I enjoyed WHFRP 1st Edition immensely. WHFRP 2nd Edition did Magis better than 1st and wa...

Re: Cubicle 7 and Games Workshop announce new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

I always find the most joy comes when background information - whether it be races, locations, history - is best revealed through published scenarios and, preferably campaigns, rather than presented in its own sourcebook. That's one of the many reasons why The Enemy Within was so fantastic: you felt...

A

As long as the new edition is clearly a roleplaying game and not a shared-narrative storytelling game.

that medieval feel that was WFRP.
It's modelled on Renaissance Europe (or at least 1st edition is).

That's one of the things that set it apart from other games.

Re: Cubicle 7 and Games Workshop announce new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

I hope that, much like the Enemy Within does, any new settings are explored and revealed through the prism of new campaign material.

Re: Cubicle 7 and Games Workshop announce new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

If people decide to do half the changes they are proposing to WFRP's core system suggested on this thread, then I will cease to be interested in the game. The classic percentile system rocks. I don't want some new fangled, funky 'narrative' system ruining the game like happened in 3E. There is Age ...

Re: Cubicle 7 and Games Workshop announce new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

it hasn't been said - but it is on everyone's mind -"death on the reik" -simply the greatest campaign ever written for any (fantasy) game. Is C7 thinking of reproducing this for the new game or intending to create it's own "DotR"? I hope for both. But, more than anything, a proper ending to EW.
