If you want a summary of how it ran in my campaign, I can easily send them to you.
Sure, that'd be great!
PM me your email address and I send them to you...

Re: Campaign Help Needed!

I have been running my TOR campaign for about 18 months with about 1 x 3 hr session per month. I started with Zed's Theft of the Moon but continued with DoM plus a few other adventures if it suits. Just the way I play, and I don't think I have a great imagination or particularly creative compared to...

Re: Woodwight!

Well, the 5 characters (plus a LM guide) took on the Woodwight last night (and a second). It didn't help that a female Woodman had a Hound of Mirkwood with Harass Enemy.... although she was the only one who made their Fear test. However she got a Gandalf on her first roll and the woodwight failed hi...

Re: Woodwight!

Aha - thanks Zed, I hadn't come across that thread before.
I think I'll take your advice and allow it after the Opening Volley but before Close Quarter combat.

Cheers!

Woodwight!

My players are about to be attacked by a woodwight within Mirkwood - first time against one of these or any kind of supernatural opponent. So far they have only fought Men and goblins. It's an interesting change of opponent - it has some different Special Abilities, including Strike Fear, Denizen of...

Re: Council of Elders within Woodmen society

Sounds like a good argument that Fridwald would be on the Council of Elders for Woodmen-town. Would all old people (Elders) be on their Council of Elders? Not everyone who is older may want to be, I guess. I suppose many may turn up when required for meetings but not contribute nor be usually very n...

Re: Council of Elders within Woodmen society

Well, p13-14 of DoM only mentions: Ingomer Axebreaker of Woodland Hall as head of councils of Woodland Hall, he is detailed more in HotW. Hartfast of Mountain Hall, he is detailed much more in A Darkness in the Marshes within TfW. Fridwald the Runner of Woodmen-town, but he is not stated to be on a ...

Council of Elders within Woodmen society

Kurt and I are interested in the people in each of the Woodmen settlements and outside them. From HotW p92: "The Woodmen of the forest have no king. Each House has a council of Elders, and important decisions are voted on by everyone who meets beneath the roof of the Great House." I presume others h...

Re: Question About Character Progression

I usually play in my D&D group, but I "have" DM'd it as well ..... although 95% of the time I am a player in the group. If I were to DM, I would want it to be something special, something the players can really get into. Its not an easy thing for a young woman to run a game like this. I mean I shou...

Re: The Hall of Fire Webzine

Sounds like a great idea, tomcat, to have even some of the great ideas from this forum distilled into an webzine. I think that the Other Minds is a wonderful magazine but another dedicated to TOR can only be good for the game. I wouldn't have much to contribute to the content but would do what I can...
