Re: New Region Guide Coming

I rather thought the new hefty region guide was going to be Moria and Lorien because of the two hefty hints Jon dropped in the subsequent posts about Balrog's wings and Elves pointy ears - but as usual, everyone just decided this was an excuse to post their personal views on these two contentious su...

Re: The PDF of the Rhovanion Region Guide is available now

I have just downloaded it and skim read through - its awesome. Some new art I don't think we've seen before, the bestiary (of course) with some neat conversions (and marsh dwellers!!) - you don't want to mess with Sarquin, Tauler and Tyulqin!! Re: Word of Command, Magical Results, DC's, and Damage

1) ok, so we are talking about an 18th level scholar - a level few players will ever reach - a level which even some of the key characters in Tolkiens stories are unlikely to have reached (lets face it, humans have an adventuring life of maybe 20-25 years - all that journeying must be pretty tough o...

Re: Damage Resistance in AiME

In the "clarifications" on page 155 of the second version of the pdf Loremasters Guide, it states: "Do Cultural Reward weapons, Dwarf-forged Weapons, or Warrior's Birthright Weapons count as magical? Yes, though this is of limited utility in Adventures in Middle-earth compared to other settings. The...

Re: The Road Goes Ever On

Another fantastic cover, I really love the artwork for AiME. Good to see this will cover all the Journeys and Maps info, but some stuff just for AiME too. You are spoiling us :D

Re: Your personal wishlist for TOR books

Well, of course, I want it all!! But in terms of campaign continuity and the ability to use the existing rules a few obvious areas seem to need covering: 1. Bree, the Shire and Western Eriador - we have dwarves of the Blue Mountains and Dunedain and Hobbits of the Shire and Men of Bree, so we need i...

Re: Player's Guide Missing Pages

my copy has all the pages - looks like you might have a dud one, but I'm sure if you return it to C7 they will give you a new copy.

Re: Skin Color of Tolkien's Orcs

Tolkien described orcs in one of his letters (letter 210 is the book published by Humphrey Carpenter in 1981), the text is quoted below: "...they are (or were) squat, broad, flat-nosed, sallow-skinned, with wide mouths and slant eyes; in fact degraded and repulsive versions of the (to Europeans) lea...
