Re: Your New Treasure, Weapons & Armour?

Hi there - great idea for a new topic and I really like your suggestion - very much in keeping with Tolkien and Middle Earth, where knowledge is valued at least as highly as gold!! Two quick questions (and this is not a criticism, just me wanting to better understand your thinking for my own educati...

Re: A Little Help for a First Time GM (At least for a LONG Time)

yes, Eaves can be played with fewer than 6 characters provided you have a reasonably balanced group of characters with some combat and some skill focused classes. I've played through it several times with 6, 5 and 4 players....but haven't tried it with fewer, though with a bit of tweaking I'm sure i...

Re: A Little Help for a First Time GM (At least for a LONG Time)

Hi there, to play the game you will also need to get a copy of the D&D 5th edition rule set. You can download this from the dnd.wizards.com website, though you only get the stripped down basic rules for free online. The fuller rules are contained in hard back books which you have to buy, but in real...

Re: AiMe Characters and the Balrog

If you read the Silmarilion and the History of Middle Earth, its clear that there were balrogs of different strengths. In the longest version of the tale of the fall of Gondolin, not only did Glorfindel slay and balrog (though he himself was slain in the process), but the elf lord Ecthelion slew the...

Re: Defense of Dale at the Quays

A few thoughts to add to the comments above. Ignoring infiltration by very small numbers of "enemies" (spies and mischief makers) which would be easy via the gates in the wall or the harbour (as it would be in any town or city), any major attack via the harbour would require boats - lots of boats. N...

Re: Favourite Place in Middle-earth

For me it would have to be Lindon. It has it all, the sea, forests, rivers, the Blue Mountains and the lasting effect of the elves.....its all that's left of Beleriand. Studded with ancient battlefields (Sarn Athad on the Gelion), dwarven ruins (Nogrod and Belegost) and elven ruins (the remains of t...

Re: Fate of Goblin slaves - a moral dilemma

I agree with Otaku-Sempai. I think the elves at least have the wisdom of ages and would know that murdering slaves is the fastest route to a bad end. You have to live by example, even if the chances are the freed goblins will just see it as weakness......one might remember and do the same itself one...

Re: "Rumour of the earth" Wanderer feature

Hi there First off, the ability in question can only be used once per LONG rest. Effectively that means once per journey (as you can't usually take a long rest during a journey. So the ability can't be used often. For the average wanderer with Wisdom of 12 or 14, up to level 5, with a DC of 15 to ge...

Re: Werewolf of Mirkwood's Regeneration

Loremasters guide, page 113, in the middle of the stat block for a werewolf is the "Fell Spirit" power, which is the ability to "regenerate"

Hope that helps
