Re: Moria

The best information we have so far is what Jon Hodgson posted on December 4. We don't know for sure that there will be four books or what extras might be included in the set. Here's the post: Good morning! To clear up some confusion: We're taking a modular approach to the rules sections and soaking...

Not sure being this explicit to the number of books and content of the boxed set is... entirely accurate, shall we say. :)
Rich, I think anyone reading the post would realize that I am speculating based on what has been stated so far and not being as specific as you imply (as if I even could).

Re: Moria

So being fairly new to RPGs, I am wondering what a Deluxe Box Set in general includes. Is it just a different enclosure for some books? Or does it include extras and if so, what kind could we expect to be in there? It depends upon the purpose of the set. A boxed set that serves as a basic introduct...

Re: Your personal wishlist for TOR books

I have an issue of remembering just how close or far apart places are in Middle-Earth, and I do not have a map handy... Well, the places I mentioned along with the Shire (the Tower Hills, Hills of Evendim) are all regions adjacent to it, and I would probably add Sarn Ford and the Old Forest. http:/...

Re: Your personal wishlist for TOR books

I have an issue of remembering just how close or far apart places are in Middle-Earth, and I do not have a map handy, so I went googling to refresh my memory and one of the results is someone on Etsy selling maps of Middle-Earth. I doubt they have the legal right to do that in the US, so is this so...

Re: Your personal wishlist for TOR books

Yeah, Tharbad was fully deserted and in ruins nearly 50 years before the time of The Hobbit. But I would love the area to get a Ruins of the North type of treatment with a series of adventures set there. And since the ruined bridge and the river ford were still used by the Nazgul, spies of Saruman,...

Re: Your personal wishlist for TOR books

I would love to see stuff covering areas not detailed in LOTR, such as Tharbad, the Blue Mountains, Rhun, Belfalas, etc. What would you like to see? Frodolives, I don't think I ever directly addressed your specific choices (I hope you don't mind). I think the best we can hope for with Tharbad is a ...

I've read it!

Here's a book I'd like to see (but it will never happen under the current licensing agreement): The Art of The One Ring Roleplaying Game.

Re: A Little Help for a First Time GM (At least for a LONG Time)

If you have a very small group and one or more of your players are up for role-playing two Heroes at once, that's not a bad idea. We've had to resort to it on many occasions. We've even had GMs who have felt the need to, in effect, run a PC--that, I do not recommend, though it did not cause us any s...
