Re: PhP Help!

Sorry, I can't help with this except to suggest that perhaps you should have posted your query in the main section instead of the House Rules forum. Either way, I hope you get a more useful response.

The 13th Warrior. A fun film. :)
In fact that's the first thing I thought of. Have you ever read Eaters of the Dead? My mother read it before I did, not realizing that it was loosely based on Beowulf. I had to explain that the foreword and the rest of the book were pure fiction.

Researchers in Sweden have found Arabic characters woven into burial costumes from Viking boat graves. The discovery raises new questions about the infl...

Re: Trading between Dorwinion and Gondor

Which brings up a side thought that has probably been discussed many times before since Tolkien wrote his books, but which trade route/road in Middle Earth do you think he might have made as a parallel to the Silk Road? If you mean routes leading to the distant corners of Middle-earth, we have the ...

Re: Trading between Dorwinion and Gondor

It does make a difference if Dorwinion is not the main destination but just one stop in a longer caravan route. In that case, I could see merchants making their way along the Anduin first to trade with the Beornings and the Woodmen, traveling north around Mirkwood (or through if the Forest Road is p...

Re: Horses / Ponies in Mirkwood

Not all parts of Mirkwood are equally dangerous. the Elf path would be slightly easier than Southern Mirkwood I would think, but likely still trouble. True. I suggested as much when I stated that even horses trained to withstand the Elf-path might balk at using the Dwarf-road, especially in its dam...
