But as Glorelendil said, I still would like an official C7 version ;)

Cheers,
Kurt

Re: What colours do orcs and goblins come in?

The tale of the two Woodmen brothers sounds like legend, but could be based on truth. Stories of men turning into monsters reminds me of werewolf legends of Europe, but also of folktales of Japanese oni (evidently the basis for the ogre mage of D&D). https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/...

Re: What colours do orcs and goblins come in?

I'm pretty sure that there are no green Orcs in Middle-earth (unless perhaps one is suffering from some disease). Tolkien went back and forth on the origins of the Orcs, but there seems to be the blood of both Men and Elves in their make up; consider how long-lived was Bolg, the son of Azog. Azog wa...

Re: New Region Guide Coming

Some people (myself included) enjoy reading homebrew materials and houserules, but unless they come imprinted with the C7 logo they just don't count. Of course not, but they can fill the gap to some extent while we wait for official product. I intentionally kept my home-brewed guide very loose to k...

Re: New Region Guide Coming

Playing in two campaigns with each character being a hobbit, I've gotta say I am seriously hoping that the new region guide is about The Shire. If you've been using my "TOR Guide to the Shire" in the House Rules forum at all, Kurt, tell me where you think it could be improved. I know that I've miss...

Re: Journey

There are plenty of things to do when on a journey. I'd seriously recommend looking at the Journey's & Maps supplement for TOR, it's excellent and is packed full of ideas like ruins, hazards, encounters etc etc. When on a journey I have the characters have something interesting happen each day, whe...

Re: New Region Guide Coming

I'd love a region guide that covered "the South". I.E. Gondor, the outlands (Lossarnach, Dol Amroth, etc), the Druadan Forest, and at least touched on Umbar and Harad. I'd like to see the Woses as a playable culture, but would especially like to see the Corsairs of Umbar and the Haradrim. We've alr...

Re: great spear and horses

Maybe it’s like the references to “great sword”. Some people think “sword appropriate for a tall man” and some think “Greatsword!” Yeah, I've struggled a little bit with that myself. Tolkien doesn't seem to be using the term to describe something like what we would label a Great sword in TOR (a ful...

Re: Journey

You might want to take a look at the Journey rules for AiMe, which some seem to find superior to TOR's Journey rules. There might be things there that you can adapt for your game.

Re: great spear and horses

It’s not charging with spears I’m opposed to, it’s the image of doing so with long, heavy spears...the ones that normally take two hands to wield. That strikes me as anachronistic. Since Tolkien actually describes the Rohirrim as having exactly such spears as well as the stirrups that would be requ...
