Re: Your personal wishlist for TOR books

I have an issue of remembering just how close or far apart places are in Middle-Earth, and I do not have a map handy... Well, the places I mentioned along with the Shire (the Tower Hills, Hills of Evendim) are all regions adjacent to it, and I would probably add Sarn Ford and the Old Forest. http:/...

Re: Your personal wishlist for TOR books

I have an issue of remembering just how close or far apart places are in Middle-Earth, and I do not have a map handy, so I went googling to refresh my memory and one of the results is someone on Etsy selling maps of Middle-Earth. I doubt they have the legal right to do that in the US, so is this so...

Re: Your personal wishlist for TOR books

Yeah, Tharbad was fully deserted and in ruins nearly 50 years before the time of The Hobbit. But I would love the area to get a Ruins of the North type of treatment with a series of adventures set there. And since the ruined bridge and the river ford were still used by the Nazgul, spies of Saruman,...

Re: Your personal wishlist for TOR books

I would love to see stuff covering areas not detailed in LOTR, such as Tharbad, the Blue Mountains, Rhun, Belfalas, etc. What would you like to see? Frodolives, I don't think I ever directly addressed your specific choices (I hope you don't mind). I think the best we can hope for with Tharbad is a ...

I've read it!

Here's a book I'd like to see (but it will never happen under the current licensing agreement): The Art of The One Ring Roleplaying Game.

Re: A Little Help for a First Time GM (At least for a LONG Time)

If you have a very small group and one or more of your players are up for role-playing two Heroes at once, that's not a bad idea. We've had to resort to it on many occasions. We've even had GMs who have felt the need to, in effect, run a PC--that, I do not recommend, though it did not cause us any s...

Re: After the Watch on the Heath: What to do with Raenar?

I Seem to remember that Dale had to pay tribute to Smaug, and as such existed for some time. I'm not aware of any basis for that notion unless you are confusing Dale with Esgaroth. "Lake-men, some nasty scheme of those miserable, tub-trading Lake-men, or I'm a lizard. I haven't been down that way f...

Re: Your New Treasure, Weapons & Armour?

I believe the dwarves were very secretive in their use of their own language. Anything that would conceivably be read by a non dwarf would have to be in something else. So a book from a time we're dwarves were antagonistic to other cultures might be in Khudzul, but something that came from a time o...

Re: Your New Treasure, Weapons & Armour?

Hi there - great idea for a new topic and I really like your suggestion - very much in keeping with Tolkien and Middle Earth, where knowledge is valued at least as highly as gold!! Two quick questions (and this is not a criticism, just me wanting to better understand your thinking for my own educat...

Your New Treasure, Weapons & Armour?

What new Precious Objects, Wondrous Items and Legendary Weapons & Armour have you invented for AiMe? I'll start: Precious Object: Annals of the Lords of Nogrod (Dwarven relic of Nogrod) Dating to the last years of the First Age, this book is a record of the Dwarf-lords of Nogrod, going back to the F...
