Re: Need some suggestions

Essentially, yes, the Master is the Mayor of Esgaroth and we don't know how long his term is. We do know that one term for the Mayor of Michel Delving (the Mayor of the Shire) is seven years; and many of the traditions of the Hobbits date from when they dwelt in Rhovanion. I'm not sure what the year...

Re: Need some suggestions

That is a dark turn you're taking with the new Master, especially after Balin had such nice things to say about him when he and Gandalf visited Bilbo (in the year 2949). "The new Master is of wiser kind," said Balin, "and very popular, for, of course, he gets most of the credit for the present prosp...

Re: New to TOR: what do I need to get started?

The absolute minimum you need is (1) and (2). There are lots of sourcebooks available, including region guides, adventure books, and rule books, but they're all completely optional. I limited myself to TwF or HotW because the core book is focused on starting in Wilderland. And I included those beca...

Re: Toward a Theory of Weapon Stats

Sling Damage: 3 Edge: 10 Injury: 12 Encumbrance: 0 Called Shot: None Usable by Hobbits Part of the 'Dagger' group Balance: 0 I've revised my own stats for the Sling using the AiMe/D&D 5e statistics as guidance. They are now much more like yours, save for the Called Shot and not including it in the ...

Re: New Weapon: Sling

Now that the Player's Guide for Adventures in Middle-earth has been available for a while now, I've taken the time to reconsider my interpretation of the Sling for The One Ring , scaling it back a bit: Sling Damage: 3 Edge: 10 Injury: 12 Called Shot: Piercing blow regardless of the outcome of the Fe...

Re: The Hall of Fire - issue 1 Released!

I believe that Doug has said 'yes' to that, although I don't think it will be the main thrust of the 'zine. I'm developing an optional Heroic Culture that will include sections for both TOR and AiMe. I like this idea, Otaku! Maybe in my current adventure write-up, I will include options for both, t...

Re: New to TOR: what do I need to get started?

Hi there! The absolute minimum that you need for TOR: 1. The core book, The One Ring Roleplaying Game . 2. Dice: either the official TOR dice set or 6d6 and 1d12. 3. a. For pre-generated adventures: Tales from Wilderland . ... b. A region guide you can use for your own adventures: The Heart of the W...

Re: WANT the art!!

For all I remember, the art of John Hodgson for AIME and TOR is closely tied to the licence given for the Middle Earth setting. So, you will never have a chance to buy the art of Hodgson for TOR & AIME separately... Never say never, but the prospects for the immediate future don't look promising.

Will the new HOF also support the 5e version of the game?
