Re: Translated Game Lines

What is going to happend with Sons of Halfdan? I thought it was almost ready for its release :( Yeah, I'm not too impressed, either. Guess that's what happens when one of the C7 game lines (The One Ring) has a D&D 5e conversion that really takes off... other product lines get dropped. That, and may...

Re: A source for new adventures?

Yes, some of the adventures in the Khazad-Dum expansion and Dwarrowdelf cycle have adventures with quest stages that can vary from game to game (Flight from Moria and Foundations of Stone come to mind). Later adventure packs also provide stages with different possible endings (e.g., The Steward's Fe...

Re: Anyone playing this game in Calgary, Alberta, Canada?

Nudged myself into ordering the core book and Nine Worlds, so no need to sell me on this game anymore (not that any one was ;) ) . And of course, found other threads covering that anyway.

Re: A source for new adventures?

With no one to bounce rules questions off of, or to talk to, it just seems like a hard thing to get into. I start thinking about all the more productive uses of my time and pack it up. There are a lot of in-depth card/rules discussions on the FFG boards and a pretty lengthy FAQ document… but yeah, ...

Re: A source for new adventures?

I get the cards in the order they were released, but I can't wait to go on an adventure with Elrond and his two sons. I guess the initial Threat will be very high, but they will plow through just about every adventure. :D E. Aside from high threat and few threat mitigation cards between their three...

Re: A source for new adventures?

Cool. I have the base set, but never bought any of the expansions... I have a hard time playing solo, and haven't found a reliable partner. But maybe random card draws and a version of JRB's Wild Adventures might work well? Just curious… what is it you find difficult about playing solo? The starter...

Anyone playing this game in Calgary, Alberta, Canada?

Don't expect to find any, but thought I'd ask anyway. Subject line says it all… anybody? To be honest, I don't even own the game, but I'm thinking of ordering the three books for my reading/dreaming pleasure, as I likely won't have time to pull a group together and GM any time soon… same situation I...

Re: A source for new adventures?

The Lord of the Rings LCG by Fantasy Flight Games is my favourite game, bar none. It's more addictive than crack (not that I've tried crack, but you know what I mean). And while I have purchased every The One Ring RPG product available thus far, I have unfortunately never had the opportunity to play...

Re: Ruins of the North arrived

Ah, thanks Andrew… must go on gnashing my teeth for another couple of weeks… And as good old W.A.S.P. would belt out, "The Tortuuuuuure neverrrr… stops!"

Well, hopefully it'll stop soon, and yes, I'm a little melodramatic… :D
