Re: Cubicle 7 and Games Workshop announce new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Allow me to rephrase my question, do you lovely folks foresee it being possible to play a White Lion, a Bright Wizard, a Dwarven Slayer, and the other classic archetypes and unique staples of the Warhammer Fantasy Old World (even if you dont necessarily begin the game as them)? Were these available ...

Re: Cubicle 7 and Games Workshop announce new edition of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Although I am decently familiar with the Old World, I have never played Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, but I am definitely intrigued to check it out. I do have a question though, I love the Old World as a setting, its evocative and just hits the nail on the head (more than floating dimensional space r...

Re: Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 4e

Count me as another who is excited for a Cubicle 7 take on the Old World. I'm hoping for 1E in style/feel and a refined 2E in mechanics, though I trust C7 to create the mechanics of a game that perfectly matches the world, as their proven track record states. 1E Old World and I am all in, an Age of ...

Re: Hit Dice: Wardens d8 and Wanderers d10?

As classes, Wanderers are the Ranger analogue, Wardens are the Bard analogue. However, with that said, upon initially seeing the names of the 6 classes that were going to be included, I too assumed that Wardens would be the Rangers. Perhaps they could have just called the base class Hunter instead o...

Re: On Slayers and Warriors

If I want to play a sword and board character I'm likely to go Slayer. If I want to play a great weapon character I'm likely to go Warrior. This is not necessarily a problem, it's just counter to what I expected. One important thing to note, taking the Protection style 3rd level option is currently...

Re: Newbie questions about the game

@Elfcrusher I think everyone was trying to welcome a potential new player to the fold, sadly you took another approach. I can say that our games are very story focused, and none of our characters have ever become "demigods". You seem to hold much derision for the game of D&D. Honestly I've never un...

Re: Newbie questions about the game

My sincere thanks for all the replies folks! :D @Stormcrow Haha, I misworded that good sir, I didnt mean to say that the movie came out in the 80's, but rather it was the 80's when I first watched it as a little kid. You mentioned spending experience points to gain abilities, the only system similar...

Newbie questions about the game

Hello all, first post here. I recently discovered the existence of The One Ring and have been checking it out a little bit. I have mostly played D&D (and derivatives like Pathfinder) and Star Wars as far as RPGs go. While I am no Tolkien expert, I have always had a love for The Hobbit and Lord of th...
