Re: The Hall of Fire - issue 1 Released!

Excellent House Rule article for use of Fear! I will use it from now on.... Now the characters will fear my Woodwights! (I hope) Thanks so much tomcat and James. It would have been more appropriate if the credit had been stated as written by tomcat based on material by James. I wrote an i...

Hello James,

I am looking at Fear as an article for the HOF and I was wondering if I might work with your ideas here?

Please let me know.

Re: Question About Character Progression

If I thought I could produce some footage worth watching, I might have recorded pieces of a session by now. I don't know...I dread the editing process and time it would take to upload, etc. Maybe this Monday I can record during our session and then upload it to YouTube. We'll see... As far as charac...

Re: There and Back Again (Gencon)

:) Was hoping to see a little news come out for TOR and AIME, since Gencon is the biggie. Will carry on waiting patiently :) All I can say is that The One Ring SOLD OUT of the core rules, Journeys & Maps, The Darkening of Mirkwood, Erebor, and The Adventurer's Companion I believe. There were only a...

Any chance someone has this set of rules? The link in the initial post is no longer valid.
I just updated the link here and in the original post.

All of these observations are really a reminder about how rare travelling is in Middle-earth. Adventurers are special people indeed.

Re: Another "New Journey Rules", inspired by AiMe

The following steps can be followed in order to reduce the number of Fatigue tests made during a journey, which will accommodate an even greater narrative style of play. With only one roll for each leg of a journey, the Loremaster can more quickly summarise events. This method also makes it more lik...

Re: Another "New Journey Rules", inspired by AiMe

That is why it is better to break journeys into several legs. A natural way to break a journey into legs is to group each leg by region type or terrain. So, one leg might be 50 miles through Wild Lands and the next 120 miles will be over easy ground or by river. Each leg would require a travel test....

Re: Another "New Journey Rules", inspired by AiMe

If the goal is to bring the number of Travel tests down to one roll for any length of journey, I would suggest using a static amount of Fatigue gain based on the distance travelled and have the quality of the Travel roll reduce the expected amount gained. You can use the formula already in place for...
