Re: Rules for Skirmishes as an add-on to The Heart of the Wild

I'm so glad you shared this Scott! After all this time, re-reading this has sparked a new desire to continue our creation and let it evolve further.

Re: A newer TOR Youtube gameplay

A few rules that I noticed where messed up, but I am no stickler as long as people have fun. I hope that serves as an encouragement to other Loremasters. We definitely mess things up sometimes in favour of having fun! That being said, if we messed up an important rule, don't be afraid to point it o...

Re: A newer TOR Youtube gameplay

It's not much, but I just uploaded three new videos to my YouTube channel of actual play. We haven't figured out how to record an entire session yet, let alone convert the file so that it is small enough to upload to YouTube. I don't know how people post 2+ hour long videos and keep the quality. Her...

Re: Motivations in Nightmares of Angmar (spoilers)

Present the material as best as you can, absolutely let the player-heroes make their own decisions, but then let the consequences of their actions play out over the next few seasons. If they do not go after the Hill-men children, this will not stop the Lord of the Nazgul in his quest of refiring the...

I'm gonna rate posters on our forums. "5/7 would definitely ban again"
Hahaha! That would be very funny.

Re: Advancement points when Hope is used

As long as you roll (read: you do not use a Trait alone for an autosuccess) you get an Advancement Point. Spending Hope or not to suceed at the roll is irrelevant here. To be more specific, the rule is found on p. 194 of the core rules: "A player can be awarded 1 Advancement point when he uses a Co...

Re: How to handle narative time?

Narrative time is one of those beautiful things that can really make games of The One Ring feel more like the source material. While the Loremaster is the primary storyteller during the Adventuring phase, the players should be the ones who tell the tales during the Fellowship phase. I have also foun...

Re: Oaths of the Riddermark - pre-order now!

Believe it or not, I just got around to ordering my copy today. Now, I can't wait to read these adventures! If they are half as good as their companion supplement "Horse-lords of Rohan," I will be thinking about starting a new campaign in the south. Curious, how do these adventures fit into the Tale...

Re: Advice for a new TOR Campaign

Cheers for your wisdom again. Do you ever limit trait usage? As due to the broad nature of some traits they could be over utilised either for every test thrown at the players or multiple times within the same encounter. The guideline I follow is found on p. 93 of the core rules: "The Loremaster may...
