Re: Sapiency = Animals?

Do you refer to Beastmen or to Sapients in general? Biologically, the human being is an animal, a mammal. Morally and philosophically, we claim a higher state of being than other animals. Beastmen in Victoriana are not any more animals than other Sapients are. They are, as 3rd edition makes rather c...

Re: Victoriana outside of the Victorian Era

This I have not worked out yet. The preliminary consideration is that Steam Lord society is structured along victorian lines with the same sort of upper, middle and lower classes. On the frontier I imagine that class distinctions are somewhat diminished in importance. If there is an upper class on t...

Website security

On logging in, today I received the message that the site is not secure and my data could get hijacked - probably a warning from my Norton security software. Did anybody else get such a message? How about the security of this site in general?

Re: Victoriana outside of the Victorian Era

I made an alternative setting for Victoriana once, even sketched a map. I called it "Steam Lords of Lhovarnion", a fantasy setting where an interdimensional cataclysm destroyed the pseudo-victorian industrialized world of the Steam Lords and created the postapocalyptic vision of a post-victorian wor...

India in 3e

My new campaign is placed in London, but draws heavily on Indian elements, like the past experience of characters, treasures robbed during the Mutiny and such things. Also, our group's doctor was with the Company army during the Mutiny and had a native subordinate, a Tigerman, who during the 1860ies...

Re: War of the worlds enter public domain

That would be nice! Although rules-wise, I would prefer a 3e version of the book. Our group uses a modified 2e historical background with 3e rules.

Re: Victoriana

Not a word? Oh, come on! I mean, I really understand why any publisher wants to be careful with announcing titles before they are ready for print/e-publishing - and as a loyal fan of C7's product lines, I don't want to be obnoxious -, but if avoiding customer frustration is one of the reasons for th...

Re: Legal fees

Thanks a lot for that link! It is at least a starting point for doing some imaginative work. If an appearance at court is worth 1 Guinea (and, as I learned, solicitors did and do appear at court, with the exception of high courts), then a solicitor who continously does legal work for a client (busin...

Legal fees

In my new campaign, the characters are going to work for a lawyer and a private investigator, who maintain an office together. This lawyer is a solicitor, and sometimes, when an investigated case entails criminal prosecution, he calls a barrister friend who provides the defence in court. Now, nowher...
